From the "pro-Russian" perspective, you could spin this as setting things up for a ceasefire/peace settlement. The Ukrainian recovery of that territory enables them to claim enough success to negotiate a settlement over other territories. I'm not at all convinced that's Ukraine's intention, but Russia could easily afford to lose the territory north/west of the Dnieper if that was the price for keeping everything else.
U.S. personnel and weapons are most likely doing the “shaping” in hopes of extending and expanding the conflict.
Our side has the best buzzwords. Looks like they are unable to attack, Now they are “shaping”. Sounds like a war college student.
Congratulations on showing some self-commenting restraint.
Fake, like virtually everything else American media spews on this topic.
My mediaspeak translator says ‘shaping the battlefield’ really means ‘shaping the message’ to get Biden to grunt out the next couple of billion.
Maybe. Maybe not.
“Russian video. August 29. The cameraman says that the 🇺🇦 Forces are firing heavily from all types of weapons. 🇺🇦soldiers occupied the first line of defense. The 109th regiment of the DPR retreated from its positions in the Kherson region, Russian paratroopers fled the battlefield”

Case in point is the Donbass salient where the ignorance of the Ukraine general staff sent in troops to try and fend off the Russians in the pocket. They ended up running for their lives to get out after the Russians started the advances (North and South) to close the pocket and cut them off.
This reminds me of Baghdad Bob saying there were no Americans in downtown Baghdad.
Maybe in the shape of a circle of wagons.

Maybe you had better get informed by this instead of focus on worthless idiots shooting their mouths off for web site hits.
This will explain to you exactly what went on in the Donbass and what will come in the future.
I don’t think high altitude bombing is feasible for either side over there. Both have very capable SAMS. If the hobbits mass anywhere, they’ll get destroyed in an artillery barrage. But air has been unfeasible for anyone there. When Russian bombers have come into play they have been using standoff cruise and hypersonic missiles.
But this will come to be nothing. Uke didn’t have the structure, manpower or equipment to actually conduct an offensive beyond an attack here or there on a front line position.
NO thanks.
It seems more likely that what is “shaping” the battlefield is Russian artillery. “Shaping something means moving its contours. Are the Ukes making the Russkis change their positions? No evidence is shown. Just more yakking.

Our source in the OP said that the information spread on social networks about the counteroffensive is not true. Separate units are constantly probing the front, but at the moment the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have adequate capabilities for the operation #Battle_for_Kherson

Our source in the OP said that the Office of the President has developed a strategy for an information attack on Kherson, the goal of which is to keep the Russian army on edge and interfere with the organization of the referendum. No one will voice a real counter-offensive, it may begin one of the days when they get used to such information attacks, but at the moment there are not enough forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the South, they are waiting for new military assistance from the West.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Overall, about the Counterattack on Kherson⚡️
1. In the #Blagodatnoye area the enemy jerked, suffered losses and retreated to their initial positions.
2. In the #Snigirevka area, snarled, suffered losses, retreated to the initial position.
3. The situation near #Andreevka is not completely clear, there are reports that the enemy advanced a few kilometres to the village of Sukhoy Stavok and even took it. No photo/video confirmation yet, fighting continues there.
4. In Davydov Brod area the front remains stable.
5. In the Vysokopolya, Olgovka and Potemkino areas, attacks by the AFU were unsuccessful.
Accordingly, if the enemy fails to make any progress and consolidate them near the village of Sukhoy Stavok, the “offensive” will be completely rotten.
⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Kherson “Counteroffensive” Latest 7⚡️
To all appearances, the Ukrainian armed forces’ “counter-offensive” in the Krivoy Rog direction is now over. The enemy has no particular results. The attacking AFU units have been waiting and hit.
Apparently the losses of the AFU are very high. More details in the evening.
⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Kherson “Counteroffensive” Latest 5⚡️
Two Su-25s were shot down north of Posad-Pokrovskoye. Also uncovered movement of infantry and equipment in the same square, 7-8 BMPs and 4-5 tanks.
The infantry was covered with a hailstone packet. AFU has very high losses.
Ukraine also lost a Mi-8 transport helicopter.
Thats what I thought.
Roughly about tactical 60 brigades (Ukrainian) to over 100 Russian.
They initiate a offensive with lessor forces the Russian “should” initiate an offensive at other areas and gain even more territory.
Should..is another question. These people over there are not normal on both sides.
I’ve been to the Donbas. I have friends and family in the Donbas. My wife is one of those Russian speakers from Lugansk region.
The Russians started their fake separatist movement with agents, bribes, threats, and mafia tactics. They later sent in clandestine troops. Some people were “disappeared” in the Latin American dirty war since of the term.
Today, in the Donbas teachers, civil engineers, hospital workers, and bureaucrats have to join the party. The party is called United Russia. How is that for an “independent republic”?
