I will say this. If I were the Russians I would welcome The Ukrainian build up around any given point. After they initiate the attack, send in the high altitude bombers and destroy what remains of the Ukraine army.
Case in point is the Donbass salient where the ignorance of the Ukraine general staff sent in troops to try and fend off the Russians in the pocket. They ended up running for their lives to get out after the Russians started the advances (North and South) to close the pocket and cut them off.

Just so everyone knows, a "war college student" would be a Colonel or Navy Captain with probably more than one tour in combat.
Not exactly a fuzz-faced 2 Louie...
