Who would have thought that Australia’s first customer-owned bank, Bank Australia, would announce that they would eliminate loans for all fossil-fuel cars beginning in 2025? As much as you would think this is pure foolishness, if not financial suicide for any bank, Bank Australia is apparently pushing that “Great Reset” button hard in the name of saving the planet. This is nothing more than a serious social mental illness that can only be pure Green Madness.
Bank Australia explained their decision as follows, even knowing that only 1.6 percent of the total cars sold in 2021 were electric vehicles (EVs):
We’re stepping up to help protect the climate and future generations by actively supporting the shift towards a decarbonised economy. Here are five reasons we’ll stop providing car loans for new fossil fuel cars [beginning in] 2025…
1. Cars are key to climate transition. Around 43% of Australia’s transport emissions are from passenger vehicles. Electric vehicles are a ready-to-deploy technology so they can be one of the fastest contributors to Australia meeting its climate goals.
2. We need to reach net zero by 2035. To have the best chance of keeping average temperature increase to below 1.5 degrees — to help future generations avoid the worst of catastrophic climate change — 2050 is too late….
3. It’s the responsible thing to do. We’ve been thinking about the carbon impact of car loans since 2004 when we launched our first carbon offset car loan, and we’ve offered discounted interest rates for low emission vehicles since 2018…

IIRC-—Australia & Siberia have some of largest-—wide open spaces on the planet...NOT a place for an EV.
If you want to understand the Green movement, watch “Planet of the Humans”. You can find it on youtube. Granted, it’s a Michael Moore film but he’s not in it and it really does a good job of exposing the green BS and Gates and Kerry.
The green bs is going to tear up the planet as bad as or worse than any fossil fuels. Watch it and spread it among your liberal relatives because I know there’s plenty of FReepers that have them. Spread it to your conservative friends and relatives as well.

Actually, what I’ve come to discover is they’re just acquaintances. Try not to invest too much in them as their liberal religion is far more important than their relationship with you.
I wouldn’t bet on it being gone. I’m thinking that about 90% of Congress and their Wall St handlers are heavily invested in the cars and the technology. They aren’t going to lose money on their investments.
If EVs were so great and reliable and awesome, how come CornPop hasn’t mandated that the Secret Service replace all the Suburbans, Tahoe’s and Presidential limo with them?
I’m talking about FReepers that talk of their children, in-laws, nieces and nephews etc.
It’s a destructive fad. It MAY disappear, but we’ll have to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
ICE engine factories shut down, ICE engineers gone, suppliers defunct, tooling torn down and discarded, factories re-tooled for EV, millions of useless windmills built, thousands of new mines opened around the world, houses built with EV chargers, batteries, and solar panels...all for WHAT? To MAYBE prevent a 0.01 degree rise in temperature 100 years from now.
