GOP slashes ads in key Senate battlegrounds (PA, OH, NC)

As midterm election campaigns heat up in the Senate’s top battlegrounds, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is canceling millions of dollars of ad spending, sending GOP campaigns and operatives into a panic and upending the committee’s initial spending plan.

The cuts — totaling roughly $13.5 million since Aug. 1 — come as the Republicans’ Senate campaign committee is being forced to “stretch every dollar we can,” said a person familiar with the NRSC’s deliberations. Republican nominees in critical states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina — places the GOP must defend this fall — have failed to raise enough money to get on air themselves, requiring the NRSC to make cuts elsewhere to accommodate.

Since Aug. 1, the NRSC has cut ad buys in the battleground states of Pennsylvania ($7.5 million), Arizona ($3.5 million), Wisconsin ($2.5 million) and Nevada ($1.5 million), according to the ad tracking service AdImpact. Separately, a Democratic source tracking advertising buys estimated roughly $10.5 million in cuts by the NRSC since the first of the month.

“People are asking, ‘What the hell is going on?’” said one Republican strategist working on Senate races. “Why are we cutting in August? I’ve never seen it like this before.”

While the scale of these cuts is unprecedented, the NRSC is also ahead of its typical schedule on its ad spending, having already spent $36.5 million on television spots this cycle, as opposed to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s $1.9 million to date. Sen. Rick Scott, who chairs the NRSC, announced earlier this year the campaign committee would be spending sooner than in years past. It was a necessary change, Scott said, to prevent Democrats from having the airwaves to themselves all summer.

That still does not refute my original statement genius: “Trump endorsed candidates have an excellent track record. I expect JD Vance to win in Ohio.”

With shiiteholes like Philly and Pittsburgh, PA is almost a lost cause. (Of course Cleveland is a stain on Ohio as well).

The NRSC is cutting funds for MAGA candidates. Mitch wants only bitches he can control.

So the nominees in Ohio and NC aren't MAGA candidates?

The DSSC also has nearly twice the amount of cash on hand vs. the NRSC.

And why is McConnell personally reserving many tens of millions of dollars on these races himself with his own Super PAC if this is the case?

But go on spreading your fake propaganda designed to demoralize conservatives to help the Democrats, like you always do.

This would of course be academic if these candidates were able to raise their own money - they aren't doing this.

And the article doesn't say that. The person who posted this headline got that wrong by adding that in.

The problem for MAGA people who are still flogging the GOP dead horse is this: Elected Republicans (for the most part) win with GOPe + MAGA votes. The GOPe fraction of voters is not small. It varies, state to state, of course.

But the MAGA voter's second choice is staying home, while the GOPe voter's second choice is always the Democrat.

These primary "wins" turn into guaranteed November losses (Christine O'Donnell, anybody? MAGA before her time).

So for MAGA to win, it has to replicate the Trump 2016 formula - replace the GOPe voters, who will die before they vote MAGA, with Democrats who fit the profile of the 60,000 Democrats who voted for Trump in 2016 after voting for Obama twice.

This requires giving those voters what they want - the wall, deport them all, end the global market in labor, end usury as the basis of consumption, stop normalizing perversion, etc, etc.

Something basic like being able to raise enough money to run a campaign would also be helpful.

The "donor community" is apolitical.

Oh yes, simply stating factual information to false information is “defending McConnell.” You of course once again cannot respond to the factual information relayed to you as it doesn’t fit your propaganda campaign.

Virtually everything you post is false - just spreading bogus narratives day in and day out.

Apparently not to the candidates themselves either.

The Left has been organized to get small dollars to add up to tens of millions for each candidate for many years now from the non-donor community. We have no similar organization on the right. There are almost certainly 10 million conservatives who could chip in at least $1 per candidate...actually a lot more than that.

“ Trump endorsed candidates in PA ,governor and Senate will not win.”

Would you like to place a small wager on that? Loser contributes $100 to FR? How $100 for Governor and $100 for Senate.

“ This requires giving those voters what they want…”

Don’t forget promising to stop giving them what they don’t want; high crime, inflation, energy and food shortages, boys competing with girls in sports, etc. etc. etc.
