Katty Kay: Will an FBI 'Raid' Supercharge Trump?
BBC ^

Posted on 08/09/2022 2:37:38 PM PDT by nickcarraway

The torrent of outrage from Donald Trump's supporters on Tuesday has been predictable. Of course they were going to vent their fury after FBI agents searched the former president's home.

It plays straight into the narrative Mr Trump himself perpetuates that he is a victim of a corrupt establishment. As he likes to say at his rallies, no political leader has ever been treated as badly as he has. In fact, the FBI search Mr Trump has called a "raid" is helping to solidify his campaign of grievances against the state.

Listening to the gist of what his supporters are saying, there is a specific point about government overreach in persecuting Mr Trump.

Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican senator and Trump critic-turned-acolyte, compared the FBI's actions to "something we have seen many times from third world Marxist dictatorships".

Kristi Noem, the South Dakota governor who has only ever been a staunch Trump fan, called it the political weaponisation of the FBI, which she said had "been after President Trump as a candidate, as president, and now as a former president".

For Democrats meanwhile, the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago holds its own political peril. Not only does it motivate the Republican base, it takes attention away from the Democrats' achievements in Congress this week, passing a sweeping economic package that addresses everything from health care to climate change.

For Democrats in tight races, "the spending bill is a series of victory laps," said Democratic strategist Mary Anne Marsh. "But the first lap has now been truncated. Democrats wanted this week's political talk shows to be all about the climate change and spending bill that the Senate passed this weekend, instead they were all, once again, about Donald Trump."

The politically unfortunate timing prompted some Democrats to refute pro-Trump allegations that

No.

Wrong question.

The RIGHT question is will this raid supercharge

AMERICAN PATRIOTS

into action against the $3 trillion unconstitutional portion of the United States?

The challenge they are going to have with this is that this is similar to a “pretextual” stop by the cops, which makes it even worse. It’s the ol’ “I pulled you over because one of your license plate lights is out. May we search your car?” things.

The crime that “justified” this search was very minor - even if it turns out it was actually committed. This is not going to go well for them. They don’t control the press any more.

Not sure if I’m supercharged but I am almost as pissed off and determined than when biden and milley betrayed and murdered 13 service members in Afghanistan.

Well, today I made donations to FreeRepublic, Trump, DeSantis, Kari Lake, and Kristi Noem. Tomorrow is another day.

Yeah, I’m motivated.

BBC? BS Article.

“A June Fox News poll suggested 55% of registered voters view him unfavourably.”

“This is less and less about Trump being in the frame of the picture,” Michael Steele, a Trump critic and former Chairman of the Republican National Committee, told me.

This summer, I spent a hot few weeks travelling around the US talking to Trump supporters. More than once I heard them say a civil war is coming in the country. Monday night on social media, Mr Trump’s most ardent fans said the FBI’s action will lead to violence.

Again, BBC BS!

No bias there. I mean, who are you going to believe the corrupt MSM or your own lying eyes?

I predict it will supercharge Trump supporters, and also might attract some Independents that are fence-sitters regarding Trump, and even some iffy dimmacrats that are fed up with the nonsense. Win, Win, Win!

So the FBI didn’t keep the Russia, Russia Russia business alive, even though they knew it was a phony setup by the Clinton campaign?

Actually I think the Republicans should and will draw lots of attention to the democrats’ ‘achievements’ this week. Unilaterally passing a huge spending bill that will make things worse, tax increases and to ensure those taxes are paid, nearly 90,000 new IRS agents.

The regime is weaponizing the FBI against political opponents like Biden’s old boss did with the the IRS, the FBI, the intelligence community, etc. And all the #Democrats support it. Every. Single. One.

What’s their endgame?

They plan on counting the votes, and election-deniers will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Unilaterally passing a huge spending bill that will make things worse, tax increases and to ensure those taxes are paid, nearly 90,000 new IRS agents.

Interesting discussion early this morning on our cul de sac.

I was outside checking things to put on our upcoming punch list with our contractor.

Parked across the street was the guy, in his new company van, who keeps our mini office running and installing new gear in new home offices in this area.

The Van was new/big, and it/he were out on the street early.

I asked him what was happening. He said that 5 other homes on our short street were wanting new offices installed or up graded.

As I have recently posted, we have many relatives and friends in their mid to late 50’s/early 60’s thinking about or getting ready to set up an office in their homes.

Besides being in the same basic age groups, often these people/friends/relatives’ last kid has or will finish college this year.

So those parents are looking at gearing down, no commutes and working out of a home office for their own businesses. No more cash roaring out of their homes heading to colleges and the towns with the colleges.

I discussed my observations with the installer.

The installer said that I had described most of the new home office people or ones who will upgrade their offices in our area and his assigned area.

In fact his wife will be one of the new ones. She is selling a moderately successful downtown business.

She is currently a non working CPA.

Starting 1 January, 2023, she will open up a tax prep office to help people avoid or minimize the 90,000 new IRS agents.

She had heard that California will probably have at least 10% of those 90,000 new IRS agents. They will not be going to work in slum areas.

She will work out of a local office building with her own office. She can walk or ride her bike in good weather and daylight to safely ride to and from her new office.

She and the others are leading a change re working at home!

I imagine quite a few of the new IRS agents will spend their time checking and double checking the deductions for the home offices. They won’t be going after people who cheat on their ‘Earned Income Tax Credits’ but will have a laser focus on people in your neighborhood.

Funny, the same people who find semantics off when news agencies use the word “Raid” here seemed to continuously call the Florida Law “Don’t Say Gay,” when that was nothing to do with the law
