I drove a Pinto for 7 years. It never caught fire. I probably would’ve kept it longer if not tor the black vinyl top and interior and total absence of air conditioning. I lived in Georgia at the time.

Based on reports and anecdotal info, I’d say EV fires are 1,000 more common than ICE fires.

So close

Giant batteries that burst into flames when exposed to oxygen. What could go wrong?

Didn’t one of the manufacturers recently recommend parking their EV’s outside because of the possibility of fire?

My dad had a pinto wagon. It looked like the Clark W. Griswold wallyworld wagon threw up a Hairball.

Green and white plaid vinyl top, pea green metallic paint and green vinyl interior.....even as a teenager I was embarrassed as hell to drive that thing.

What ford was thinking when they designed and built that thing is beyond me......as well as why my dad bought it.

What’s a “wall connector”?

I saw one in our town. Fella pulled up, shut car off, went I side, and car burst Into flames. Even debri can catch on fire if it gets got enough, and if it’s around wires, Wil, cause them to melt too. I’ve seen vehicles that have burned, in junk yards too, but don’t know if they were being driven at the time or now.

Teslas way of charging you extra for hardware to be be able to charge your $60,000 vehicle a little faster.

There was a ahow,on TV here they took vehicles across the tundra on an extreme race, and one got a bunch of grass up around the manifold or whatever, and it dried it out and caught fire. They caught it In Time, and was easy to put out. Luckily it did fubar the whole, vehicle. But Hat is extreme conditions and driving to be sure.

FYI, I do not leave Lithium Battery’s for power tools plugged in over night in my garage or basement/shop for this reason.

Thanks, I didn’t know the regulations for fire protection, but after a friends house burned and the origin was traced to a power adapter, I never leave a charger plugged in longer than needed.

Added to list. No mention of fire for fourth link, correction welcome.

The pioneering work for EVs needs to be done imo.

On the other hand, EV buyers need to be warned about possible battery fires before purchase and possibly higher insurance premiums.

Insights welcome.

Also, patriots are reminded that they must vote twice this election year. Your first vote is to primary career RINO incumbents in federal and state governments. Your second vote is to replace outgoing Democrats and RINOs with Trump-endorsed patriot candidates.

Again, insights welcome.

“Well. Gas engines do catch on fire too”

EV fire could start in the middle of the night. Most Gas Engines fires catch fire while the engine is running.

I can see homeowners’ insurance increasing if you on an EV.

An EV with just a dead battery is worth less than that vehicle.

Uhh no, the Corvair had a front mounted gas tank. Were you thinking of the Ford Pinto?🤔
