WASHINGTON — The Senate is expected to vote Wednesday on a resolution to ratify Finland's and Sweden's applications to join NATO as the Western military alliance seeks to strengthen its resolve against the threat posed by Russia.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Tuesday evening that the chamber would vote Wednesday afternoon the resolution and a pair of GOP amendments.
"Our NATO alliance is the bedrock that has guaranteed democracy in the Western world since the end of World War II," Schumer said on the Senate floor. "This strengthens NATO even further and is particularly needed in light of recent Russian aggression."

It’s a little late. The world has gone FULL COMMUNIST. We don’t need those freaks anymore. They can go back to “savin’ da enviomen.”
So we are one country of the entire membership that must approve NATO membership.
When are they voting on Ukraine
Neither of those countries are worth our going to war over.
Sad to see there peaceful countries throw their neutrality away...especially Finland.
Not thrown away….sold.
US military assets are already flowing into Finland
To counter a created threat
Assuming a good vote in the Senate, welcome to the team.
who knew putin would be the best NATO recruiting spokesman?
Especially since Sweden sat out WWII and gave Hitler all the Iron Ore they needed.
Can they ratify adhering to our constitution while they’re at it?
The globohomo march continues.
I say no. We should get out of NATO ourselves. Problem is They’re all pretty evil. First the Brits/Spaniards with their colonialism-brutal tactics. Then the Krauts and Russians took turns being the evil ones. Victims were the Poles. Ukes, Estonians-U name it.
Will it go back to the old days without US involvement? Probably. We shouldn’t be paying for the peace.
BTW-I just watched the DVD “The Captain” about a German deserter wo put on a captains uniform and took over a pow camp for deserters. Brutal. Based on truth.
The problem is, for all intents and purposes, the US IS NATO.
Lol
The problem is, for all intents and purposes, the US IS NATO.
Not anymore. Poland is building a credible land army in Europe. They know they can’t count on the US long term. Once Trump is gone AOC Democrats will go back to deferring to the Putin loving EU on European security.
Doesn’t matter...we’re still the No. 1 Money Tree. Will they pay their fair share...only a couple countries do.
Erdogan still wants the Swede/Finnish terrorists.
Ain't gonna be no "NATO memberships" without screams from the Turkish dungeons.
