When an underwater volcano in Tonga erupted in January, it belched out more than ash and volcanic gases; it also spewed 58,000 Olympic-size swimming pools' worth of water vapor into Earth's atmosphere, a new study finds.
This water vapor could end up being the most destructive part of the volcano's eruption because it could potentially exacerbate global warming and deplete the ozone layer, according to the study.
When the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano erupted on Jan. 15, it became the most powerful explosion on Earth in more than 30 years, with an equivalent force of 100 Hiroshima bombs.

The important phrase in this story is “it could”. The fact is that they don’t know, but stir up some hysteria anyway to generate grant money.

CO2 in the air would make winters milder. This would seem a good thing.
That is because carbon dioxide makes up only .03% of the gas in the atmosphere. Could not warm the earth if it “tried.” Water vapor can at times make up 4%. Vast difference.

Ah. Well, given that water vapor is the single largest greenhouse gas, and because it is so difficult to model because, well, clouds, they simplify it all the models to make models that that take days or weeks to run instead of years or decades.
Water vapor is an “inconvenient truth” to climate models. They take it into account, but in ways that let them say they take it into account.
It is all a sham anyway.
according to the models i guess. normally, when the atmosphere contains too much water vapor... it rains. then all is right with the world... or is it?
