Man who stormed Capitol with gun gets 87 months in prison

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Texas man convicted of storming the U.S. Capitol with a holstered handgun helmet and body armor was sentenced on Monday to 87 months — more than seven years — in prison, the longest sentence imposed so far among hundreds of Capitol riot cases.

Prosecutors said Guy Reffitt told fellow members of the Texas Three Percenters militia group that he planned to drag House Speaker Nancy Pelosi out of the Capitol building by her ankles, “with her head hitting every step on the way down,” according to a court filing.

Reffitt was the first person to go on trial for the Jan. 6, 2021, attack, in which supporters of then-President Donald Trump halted the joint session of Congress for certifying Joe Biden’s 2020 electoral victory.

U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich presided over Reffitt's jury trial.

Justice Department prosecutors recommended a 15-year prison sentence for Reffitt, who already has been jailed for approximately 19 months. They said he was a militia group member who intended to drag lawmakers out of the building and take over Congress to stop the certification of the Electoral College vote.

He didn’t enter the building. He was outside.

Interesting, he might have a case due to how NTPSA vs Bruen plays out. He has a right to open carry even in DC. It just hasn’t been ruled on that way yet.

Was illegal at the time. The carry law in DC is about to get dragged into court again.

Given that he didn’t pardon anyone else involved in this when he had the chance, it seems unlikely.

He somehow was deemed more worthy of severe punishment than:

Five convicted killers released from jail have murdered again in the past four years, some just weeks after leaving custody, it was revealed today.... They were only given ‘whole life’ sentences after committing murder for the second time.

The families of their victims said today ‘life should mean life’.

“who intended to”

So he was convicted of intending to do something, not what he actually did. Thought crime based on testimony by his children, Pavel & Pavellina Morovich. Tyranny thy name is USA.

Meanwhile Burn, Loot & Murder, Ruth Sent Us, and Jane’s Revenge carry on unabated.

Hardly “equal justice under law”.

How about the black cop who killed the unarmed white woman at the capitol? He got nothing. Not even charged.

A “member who intended...” Pathetic. J6 prisoners are innocent and the prosecutors are guilty of pretending to read people’s thoughts.

“with her head hitting every step on the way down,”

I would pay good money to watch that
= = =

And if her head chipped the marble, the crime is destruction of Govt. property.

He should have just burned it down while wearing a BLM shirt and he would have been given a medal instead.

Walking into the U.S. Capitol with a gun is a pretty stupid thing to do

If he has been identified at all, it is to call him a hero for shooting to death an unarmed woman climbing through a broken window in the back. Such is the hyperbole with which the deep state values their own skins while devaluing ours.

However, I am not looking at it as a racial thing because if the capitol cop involved would've been white, their reaction wouldn't have been much different.
