Facebook has reported its first-ever revenue miss and continued poor earnings, with forecasts expecting a second straight quarter of declining sales. The social media Masters of the Universe missed analysts’ estimates for both revenue and earnings.
CNBC reports that Facebook (now known as Meta) recently reported a worse-than-expected drop in revenue, missed on earnings, and gave a weak forecast for the future. Further poor performance could see a second consecutive decline in year-over-year sales. Facebook shares fell by 5.65 percent in intraday trading on Thursday.

Small victories.
Who is on fake book other than people like me that are obligated to because their 80 year old mother uses it. Interesting enough, I never post memes or political things just random drunken misadventures in random countries or the desert yet my “political leaning” is stated as extreme conservative or some such…how would they gather that? I am even registered independent.
I hope it’s the first of many revenue drops. FB is just about the worst thing that ever happened to the American culture.
It’s bad enough that stupid people outnumber smart people, but then FB tips the scale even farther by reinforcing groupthink and censoring independent thought.
2009 was college students only, now it's only old folks. These people are probably not interested in metaverse, augmented reality, virtual reality. I read somewhere fb is going to change the interface again, which will drive more of its base away, and likely not attract new users, younger users.
To CNBC it means everything is great and people should buy now. Only morons follow the commission pimps on CNBC.

Their users are not customers. Their users (and users' data) are the product.
Their biggest customers are advertisers.
When the economy sucks, ad revenues fall.

You are more qualified than any talking head on CNBC. It’s ad revenues from businesses of all sizes. If they are not spending money on ads, then they are doing something else, and it ain’t growing.
It would not bother me a whit if that dishonorable, anti-American sonofabitch went totally bankrupt!
