Begin the journey — now — to make America safe from assault weapons (barf aert)
Chicago S-T ^ | 29 july 2022

Bit by bit, year by year, America has put itself in the crosshairs of weapons of war, inviting carnage. In one tragedy after another, increasingly common military-style assault weapons are used to end the lives of unsuspecting innocents.

Now, bit by bit, year by year, America must reverse course. We need not live in a nation where everyone at a church, theater, school, parade or other gathering fears they or their loves ones may be the next to die.

It won’t be easy. Too many people own assault weapons. Too many businesses profit from selling them — more than $1 billion over the last decade. Too many politicians put their careers ahead of stopping gun violence. Too often, the courts put guns ahead of lives.

But America must start on this journey.

You can start by cleaning up your own back yard.

Over 50-million law-abiding American gun owners did not shoot anyone yesterday.

The cliches are hilarious. Someone probably patted himself on the back after writing this rot.

.....”It won’t be easy. Too many people own assault weapons....” okay, how about we start by defining what a supposed “assault weapon” is....? anything other than a muzzle-loading musket...? thousands of Americans are murdered every year by knives, hammers, fists, other “weapons” than firearms...gonna ban those, too....? this is all bulls**t on steroids....

The Chicago Sun Times editorial board has the effrontery to talk about what is a smaller problem than what happens in their own back yard!

.... increasingly common military-style assault weapons....

Kinda shot themselves in the foot, right there. “In common use” is a standard they need to avoid

“One step to gun sanity would be to require the registration of assault weapons.”

That makes it much easier to confiscate guns when the government decides to assume the throne and cancel the Constitution and create the ideal Socialist “Republic” with their elites in charge of course.

Every time there’s a shooting, the resolve of gun owners is strengthened, because they know that gun free zones and frightened police won’t be able to protect the public. And our corrupt government and what’s happening in Sri Lanka and the Netherlands provides little comfort. Our Congress passed a automatic firearms ban in 1994; the next time won’t be so easy.

We don’t have to be made safe from assault weapons. We have to be made safe from violent people who use assault weapons to attack and kill innocent people.

Liberals always concentrate on the object, ignoring the fact that the object can do nothing. A human agent is what uses the object to do something. The human agent chooses to assault or not to assault. Attention should be concentrated on the human. But it won’t be. The left doesn’t believe in free will, conscience, knowledge of right or wrong, objective right or wrong or responsibility for one’s actions.

We don’t have to be made safe from assault weapons. We have to be made safe from violent people who use assault weapons to attack and kill innocent people.

Revised

We don’t have to be made safe from assault weapons, because very few people own actusl fully automatic select fire assault weapons. We have to be made safe from violent people who use weapons that the left falsely call assault weapons to attack and kill innocent people.

Exactly. As someone said “When Cain murdered Able with a rock, God didn’t blame the rock”
