why doesn’t the judge just come out and say that they won’t accept anything but a guilty verdict?

Well then, I guess all the prosecution’s previously presented ‘evidence’ is out as well?

Guarantee the judge is a rat appointed judge.

I can understand not allowing the other acquittal verdicts, but the other alleged co-conspirators are witnesses and should be allowed to testify for the defense.

I thought double jeopardy was unconstitutional. You can’t keep re-trying someone until you get the verdict you want.

It sounds like this judge is banning a defense of these men - no exculpatory evidence allowed!

Oh, that’s completely fair.
Crap like this is happening everyday. If it doesn’t stop then people will rebel. It will get very ugly when just a consistent application of law and justice solves the problem.

This is what is known as
Guilty till proven innocent
AND
where you are not allowed to prove you’re innocent.

Not a lawyer, but if the first trial ended with a hung jury they can.

Mistrial due to deadlocked jury. Retrial is allowed, does not constitute double jeopardy since no verdict was rendered

If you try to stab a gop candidate for Governor though you’ll be out of custody by the end of the hour.
