At a news conference at police headquarters, García said the gun Portia Odufuwa, 37, used Monday was not registered under her name, and added that she tried to buy a gun in Texas at least two times since 2016, but was denied because of an outstanding traffic warrant out of New Mexico.
It is unclear how she obtained the gun, and García said Tuesday police had not yet searched her home or talked with people she knows to discern a motive.

I had a California driver's license once when I was using a rental car and got pulled over for a burned out tail light. The rental company promised they would take care of it when I turned the car in. A decade or more later when I went in for a renewal, it was STILL on my record.

Not sure of her intentions, The video shows her pulling a handgun out and shooting in the air, blissfully unaware of the cop coming towards her. Doesn’t seem like an efficient way to start a mass shooting. Just straight-up mental illness as far as I can tell.
Also, the cops got to experience an adrenaline dump on prime time (there were like ten cameras on them), and in my opinion they did great.

On April 5, 2019, she robbed the Bank of America in Wylie and was arrested as she tried to flee. Found incompetent to stand trial, she underwent both inpatient and outpatient treatment and the case was dismissed.
On May 31, 2019, a judge dismissed a robbery charge against her.
At around 7:50 p.m. on October 4, 2019, she was standing outside a house in Mesquite that was on fire watching it burn. She told one of the responding police officers that she was responsible for the fire and she would not give more information until she could speak to singer and actor Chris Brown, who she falsely claimed to be her husband. She was arrested. The Dallas County District Attorney’s office later rejected the arson case because of a lack of scientific evidence.
In September 2020, a person applied to a court for an order protecting themselves from her but a judge denied the application.
On April 25, 2021, she was staying at a hotel at Towne Crossing in Mesquite and was refused an extension to her stay so she became upset and pulled the fire alarm in front of the clerk. She was arrested and gave the address of Brown’s mansion in Tarzana although they do not know each other.
In June 2021, Dallas County judge Kristin Wade found her incompetent to stand trial in a misdemeanor case and referred her to outpatient mental health services.
In November 2021, Wade dismissed a filing a false report case involving her although she failed to successfully complete a program when she was found incompetent to stand trial.
At around 11:00 a.m. on July 25, 2022, she was dropped off at Dallas Love Field airport in Dallas, Texas. She went inside the bathroom, came out wearing a hoodie, pulled out a gun at the airport, aimed it toward the ceiling and fired several times. A responding officer shot her in the lower body so she was hospitalized. She was the only person injured.
She was 37 years old and homeless when she opened fire inside a terminal at Dallas Love Field airport on July 25, 2022. She was charged with aggravated assault against a public servant.
On July 26, 2022, she remained in a hospital.
