A woman who fired several shots in the air near a ticket counter in Dallas Love Field Airport, Texas, before she was shot by a police officer has been pictured.
Portia Odufuwa, 37, opened fire and shot several rounds of a handgun just before 11am this morning as terrified passengers hid under chairs and were evacuated amid the active shooting.
Shortly after opening fire, a police officer at the scene confronted the woman - shooting and injuring her.
She was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she remains, police said. The Federal Aviation Administration also issued a ground stop at the airport.
Dallas Chief of Police Eddie Garcia said that the 37-year-old woman - later identified as Odufuwa - went into the restroom at the airport before emerging with a gun and firing most of the shots at the ceiling.
According to reports, Odufuwa was previously known to authorities after being arrested for robbing a bank in Wylie, Texas, in 2019.

Court records show she has previously faced charges including arson, robbery, criminal trespass and false reporting — all filed in cities across North Texas over the past several years. The status of some of those cases was unclear Monday, though court records show several were dismissed.
It was unclear Monday what mental health diagnoses Odufuwa had that led to her being found incompetent to stand trial. She once told police she was ‘God’s prophet’ after admitting intentionally starting a fire.
Odufuwa was also accused of robbing a bank in Wylie on April 5, 2019.
Wylie police said Odufuwa entered the Bank of America in the 1300 block of West FM544 and displayed a note demanding an undisclosed amount of money. Customers were moved to a safe location, and responding officers found Odufuwa nearby as she tried to flee, police said at the time.
She was found incompetent to stand trial and underwent both in-patient and out-patient treatment. The case was eventually dismissed, court records show. It was not clear Monday why she was found incompetent.
