In April 2019, local news station KDFW News reported that Odufuwa, then 34, was arrested and charged with robbing a Bank of America in Wylie, Texas. When the police arrived, the employees told them that Odufuwa had given a bank employee a note asking the bank employee to give him the money. According to local news channel KXAS-TV, Odufuwa was arrested by police shortly after and charged with robbery.
Similarly, KXAS-TV’s Meredith Yeomans tweeted, saying: “Officials confirm the suspect in today’s 2019 #LoveField shooting has been arrested on a bank robbery in Wylie. Portia Odufuwa was brought to justice. The case was dismissed in lieu of civil litigation in the mental health matter.
That didn’t make much sense. Case dismissed because she was crazy? And not incarcerated at all?
Well, she said “Put the money in the bag!”
It was a funny looking bank, but she thought it was just the drugs.
