Secret Service investigators have discovered metadata showing text messages were sent and received on at least 10 agents' phones but were deleted
Investigators were working to determine whether the content of these texts contained information about the Capitol insurrection
Those text messages, members of the House select committee investigating January 6 say, should have been preserved amid an ongoing probe
The agency says the text messages may have been deleted accidentally amid a months-long data migration of its phones
It also now says it never received a copy of a Congressional letter asking it to preserve all records related to the Capitol insurrection

Before it was instructed to halt its investigation last week, the United States Secret Service found records of deleted text messages on or around January 6, 2021, stored on the phones of at least 10 agents.
Secret Service investigators discovered metadata showing that text messages were sent and received on at least 10 agents' phones in the days surrounding the Capitol riot - but have since been deleted, according to CNN.
Investigators were then working to determine whether the content of these texts contained information about the attempted insurrection, and whether they should have been preserved amid an ongoing House investigation into the riot, two unnamed sources told the network.
Among the text records the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General requested were those of the heads of the detail for both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence: Bobby Engel and Tim Giebels, respectively.
It's unclear whether they are included among the 10 personnel whose phones contained metadata showing records of deleted texts.

All text messages are saved on servers of your phone company
Nope. I cleaned them with Hillary signature series wiping cloths from Wal-Mart. Made in chi-nuh. 😂🙌
“It also now says it never received a copy of a Congressional letter asking it to preserve all records related to the Capitol insurrection”
I once had an attorney who had been the federal attorney in a nearby area. I SAW him tear out and throw away a page of court instructions that had been mailed to him so he could say he never received that particular page.
And the dog ate their homework!
Note when you say “NSA”, there’s the military human side and the military machine side.
It is the NSA machine side that records everything about us. The human side needs a court warrant to listen in on us if we are domestic based.
If we are US persons traveling outside US jurisdictions, we can be tracked and recorded without warrant. Foreign persons, can be recorded and tracked anywhere.
The machines though, are allowed to record anything, in any place.
But there is a new issue to debate the philosophy of, a merging of NSA’s listening and tracking technology with AI.
You write, “It is the NSA machine side that records everything about us.” And in the next sentence you add what everyone believes, “The human side needs a court warrant to listen in on us if we are domestic based.”
Realistically, if the NSA has recorded our calls they can hold those calls until Gabriel sounds his trumpet or Big Brother gets nosey; and nosey it is right now as it digs through Secret Service calls that occurred around January 6.
The machines record without human involvement 24/7 everywhere. They are always on.
If NSA humans listen or watch the recordings, it is done by warrant for US persons inside US jurisdictions. For all other persons, a warrant is not needed.
US persons inside US jurisdictions have protections by law.
Curious:
Why is this mainstream news if it conflicts with the narrative and undermines the Jester Committee?
Hillary staffers didn’t even try to be subtle - they bashed their Blackberries with hammers.
Because they believe it will implicate Trump in the ‘insurrection’, somehow........................
Not if you are talking with someone not covered by the Constitution which its why we have FISA courts. Once they have access to anything they can and do read it maybe they can't use it in court but they certainly do use it to find ways to gather information they can use in court. Easier to find something if you know what it looks like.
The real power in DC today is in the hands of the person/people that have the black book of pedophiles that Maxwell has.
You are correct. It’s a backdoor approach to circumventing constitutional rights.
