I have a 1999 F150 and a 2015 F150. Titles for both. Just fuel, maintenance and insurance. I'm probably going to retire soon, so there is zero probability that I'm buying an EV with a price tag of $60k+. For mild to good weather, I have motorcycles that get 46 to 66 MPG. The F150 4x4 trucks are necessary when it snows...roughly Oct 31 to Apr 1.
I stopped by the Indian motorcycle shop where Zero electric motorcycles are sold. For a mere $22,000 you can have a Zero that can travel 245 miles and recharge at a commercial fast charge station. I have the titles for all of my gas bikes. The 2009 Kawasaki Versys gets 53 MPG on premium gas with a 5 gallon tank. Refills in 2 minutes. The Zero is a 2 hour recharge. The Fat Bob gets 49 MPG on premium gas with a 5 gallon tank and is more comfortable. The EV just doesn't make sense even in a motorcycle format.

The EV with crippleware is the new marketing model. The EV comes with fully capable hardware that is software disabled. You have to pay the manufacturer an extra, ongoing license fee to software enable the hardware that you purchased. Yet another reason to avoid getting involved in the EV world.
