The EV with crippleware is the new marketing model. The EV comes with fully capable hardware that is software disabled. You have to pay the manufacturer an extra, ongoing license fee to software enable the hardware that you purchased. Yet another reason to avoid getting involved in the EV world.

I was thinking about the BMW rental seat heaters. Just unplug the cable and run power to the seat. How lame are people these days?
