A petition in Ukraine calling for same-sex marriage to be legalised has gained enough signatures for the president to consider the proposal.
The petition has more than 28,000 signatures, meaning President Volodymyr Zelensky now has 10 days to respond.
Homosexuality is not illegal in Ukraine, but same-sex marriages and civil partnerships are not recognised.
This has caused particular problems for LGBT people signing up for the military following Russia's invasion.
For example, under Ukrainian law if someone in a same-sex relationship dies, their partner cannot collect their body or bury them.
The online petition says: "At this time, every day can be the last."
One LGBT organisation has described the petition as an "important moment" for members of the community.
"It is important that LGBTQ people have the right to see their partner and take their body from the morgue, and seek compensation if needed," Oksana

Imagine is, say, Hungary gives Ukraine something they desperately need, and the string is that the do NOT legalize gay marriage. What do you do then? I don’t think that will happen but being desperate and dependent is a horrible thing.

This war is nothing but a game played by a corrupt ruler and his equally corrupt colluding political bureaucrats to tick all the DEI and progressive values boxes to keep that Western NWO support money flowing. $40 Billion here, $600 Million there, another $700 Billion/year to rebuild and on and on and on and on.
Be careful. When it comes to LGBT, the U.S. is no better. Nor Western Europe, nor Canada or Australia, nor Israel.
