Hey there, Kathy.
Yes, it’s still pretty toasty and there’s no end in sight yet. Well, maybe a little break tomorrow and Monday when we’re SUPPOSED to get a little rain. Then it’s back into the inferno the rest of the week.
Yesterday was pretty slow at the museum but today was good. I only had two tours but each was about 2 hours. I let the guests pick the pace and both couples took their time, looking at everything, asking questions every now and then. I had a great time with both couples.
YAY! Glad you got some decent rain! I hope you get as much, or more, tomorrow.
We’re praying for rain tomorrow night into Monday.
Sure hope you get at least SOME rain tomorrow night.
It was pretty cool to finally see puddles and raindrops bouncing on the street. The very last one is disappearing quickly as the street is just about dried up.
Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way!
A blessed Sixth Sunday after Pentecost (Western)/Fifth Sunday after Pentecost, Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 4th Ecumenical Council and Commemoration of the Great Martyr Marina (Orthodox) to all.
We hope we g et some decent rain out of this next system coming through. The corn is stressed again and REALLY needs a good drink, especially since it’s going to be very hot again next week.
I was thrilled to pull the lake Hood cam up this afternoon and see rain and puddles. Like at your house, the puddles are gone now and the parking lots are drying off.
Maybe I’ll see more puddles tomorrow when I pull up the cam. :-)
“TEN WAYS TO BE PERFECTLY MISERABLE” PERFECTLY describes LIEberals!
Howdy, luvie.
I gather the power grid is still holding up down there. I can’t believe how hot it is there!
Bad enough here and there’s no end in sight. MIGHT get a brief reprieve Monday, then back up it goes again.
Hey there, radu!
Seems like forever since we spoke. I hope you had fun at the museum in spite of the heat outside. Aside from that, I’ll bet you haven’t wanted to move away from the AC.
Yes, it’s been hot, but a couple of days it clouded up like rain and things cooled down a bit overnight. Yesterday “only” got up to about 95. Believe me, that’s an improvement. LOL!
Temps under 100 for a couple of days? After what you’ve endured lately, that IS an improvement. Sure would be nice if it would last.
They SAY upper 80s for us Monday and we might even get some rain here, then it’s back to mid and upper 90s the rest of the week.
You’re right. I don’t like to step outside away from the AC. LOL Even early mornings are steamy-hot when I head off to the museum. Yes, it was a good weekend there. A nice steady flow all day today.
Awesome that you had steady guests at the museum. Helps pass the time and it’s more fun than polishing cases or spiffing up uniforms. I guess the AC was a draw there as well as the wonderful items on display. Fingers crossed that you get that rain!
We will have at least 3 more days of over 100 then hopefully some time that isn’t insane. I find myself not wanting to move even with the AC. Of course, like y’all, we don’t keep it very low. We can’t afford to. LOL!
I did the sweeping and spiffing up yesterday when it was slow, as Fridays usually are. Doesn’t bother me a bit to do it.
It really isn’t all that cool in there. It’s a large metal building with no real insulation, and no trees for shade, so the AC units can only do so much in this heat. But it’s still cooler than being outside.
We’re praying hard for some of that rain that will come through tomorrow and Monday. The corn’s stressed again and needs a good drink. The inch of rain we had last Saturday helped for a few days but that water’s long gone now.
So you have a little break in the heat coming up? That’s good to hear. Y’all need a break. Now if you could just get some rain.
I know you enjoy the spiffing. You get first hands on the cool stuff. LOL! I think the whole country is tired of heat except for the one person on Steve’s chat who said she just turned her heat off. I was stuned. Seriesly.
I was just going to ask about the corn. I sure hope it survives this summer from hell...literal hell.
I’m going to head out when I finish this show I’m watching. See ya tomorrow. I can stay longer then. Yay!
The stuff I spiff up isn’t new. I’ve pretty much dealt with that. The uniforms on mannequins need touch-ups occasionally as well as other items throughout the museum. Things get dusty there just like at home. We want the place to look tip-top.
That person in Steve’s chat must live at the North Pole. LOL
We hope all the crops around here survive. There’ll be a big reduction in livestock feed they don’t. And a lot of broke farmers.
Don’t get caught up in another show! The alarm clock is going to annoy you in just a few hours. LOL Catch ya tomorrow.
How's everyone doing this morning?
Good evening/morning, Taxman, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
I did notice that...perfect description of LIEberals! LOL!
So many of us in major need of rain for lots of different reasons.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Have you and Gizmo had a good weekend so far? Had to fight crowds at the lake?
Failing crops and wildfires that need to be put out being at the top of the list!
Good morning, lightman, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
And a blessed Sixth Sunday after Pentecost (Western)/Fifth Sunday after Pentecost, Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 4th Ecumenical Council and Commemoration of the Great Martyr Marina (Orthodox).
