Republican pollster Rick Shaftan is like a lot of political junkies: He looks to his mother for hints on what real America is thinking. Lately, their talks have been about former President Donald Trump and whether he should run again. SNIP Of course, Trump does make some news, but it's mostly complaining about the 2020 election results and cheering on some 140 GOP candidates he has endorsed for 2022 who have won so far. SNIP “It’s actually even worse than it appears for Trump,” said Shaftan, whose new poll shows a dramatic drop in support for Trump in Iowa and a bump up for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. “No. 1, he keeps talking about 2020, which is the past. It's ancient history to people. What it says to people is that he's more interested in himself than attacking Biden, going after the Biden agenda."

THE #! issue among the base is 2020, NOT inflation or anything else.

Second, Trump beats Biteme in every single poll, crushes Harris in every single poll.

Third, DeSantis absolutely is not ready. He has (correctly) narrowly tailored his comments and actions to Florida and has not taken big national positions, let alone international positions. Also, DeSantis has yet to face a big serious defeat. That’s not an advantage. Everyone will lose sometimes. How does he handle it? How does he work when he has a hostile House or Senate or DOJ or Swamp? We don’t know. I liken DeSantis to a minor league batter who hits .400 and everyone thinks he’s gonna be an All Star til he sees his first major league curve ball.

Finally, Trump talks about a LOT besides 2020, but you cannot move on til you fix the fraud. It’s like trying to drive on a bad axel. I don’t care how often you change the tires, it won’t fix the real problem.

Trump WILL be the nominee, he WILL beat Biteme badly. And no, I don’t see a way for them to get rid of him. Certainly not until you get rid of Kampuchea Harris first.

Which is why Trump maybe should have just ignored Elon Musk when he said that he was leaning toward voting for DeSantis. At first, I thought Trump's attack on Musk was clearly idiotic, but on looking into the dispute a little, I see that Musk was "thinking of creating a 'Super Moderate Super PAC' that supports candidates with centrist views from all parties", which I expect would given us more RINOs.

Fine with me. On Twitter, I saw a video of someone running the same votes through a tabulator multiple times. The video was non-downloadable and the tweet removed the next day. I'd like to see the cheater punished and whoever helped conceal the crime penalized. There were multiple cases of specific individuals exceeding their authority to change the rules to favor the Democrats. They should be removed from office.

If DeSantis proves his policy positions are in line with Trump, I would prefer him because he is younger and has a better chance of uniting the tribes.

However, I have the exact same concern you have about the MSM, Joe “wishy wash” Rogan and Elon Musk supporting DeSantis. These people have NEVER been on our side and I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them.

Plus, when the MSM turns on DeSantis I am not confident these people will stay on board. Remember, the MSM LOVED John McCain until he became the nominee against Hussein.

Trump will be the candidate and he will win. The importance of Trump not letting of 2020 go is that actually helps every single republicans running for office. They should be grateful. If we just let it go and move on the steals will never stop. He’s not going to be reinstated by order of a court but lots of election law will be changed (like Zuckerbucks and drop boxes) making steals more difficult to pull off. I mean if the GOP wins Congress and begins the process of investigations of the countless shit shows that have occurred, the Dems have no chance in 2020. The only way Trump doesn’t win is if he doesn’t run.
