Harvard University provides its students with unparalleled knowledge, skills and experiences. Yet, as we Jewish students have witnessed, the routine vilification of the State of Israel — both inside and outside the classroom — indicates that something in Harvard’s contemporary education has gone seriously awry.
In the latest example of this trend, the editorial board of the Harvard Crimson endorsed the movement to boycott, divest, and sanction (BDS) the Jewish state in an April 29 editorial. BDS represents the economic arm of a global effort — spearheaded militarily by Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran — to destroy the Jewish state.
That a majority of the Crimson’s 87-member editorial board believes this movement to be part of the global struggle for social justice has significance both for Harvard and American society more broadly. The hostility toward Israel that has permeated our campus — which often involves the endorsement of anti-Semitic attitudes, assumptions, and activities — is symptomatic of larger trends: a retreat from robust critical thinking and a surrender to the most hysterical, least rigorous elements of campus activism.

Yup.
This demonic sickness is all over college campuses.
Their “free speech zone” idea is literally an invitation to every evil, sick, demented, or deluded kind of nut- cases proper to come and scream their invective (and often threats) at the very- convenient supplied innocent crowds.
“Harvard University provides its students with unparalleled knowledge, skills and experiences.”
Perhaps once upon a time, but none of the Ivies (or other “elite” schools, such as Chicago or Stanford) are worth a warm bucket of spit today, except to some extent in stem. Even then, the standards have been lowered, “Wokeism” has infiltrated, and many universities that are not considered “elite” have certain stem programs that are as good or better than the Ivies and other “elite” schools.
Just wondering; Of the Jews who attend Harvard, how many of them vote Democrat in the elections.?
You hit the nail straight on. Apparently, the lesson was lost what took place in Germany prior and during the second world war. For some people there is just something enticing and intriguing about socialism and democrats, even so in the long run it never works. Yet people are drawn to it like moths to the flame of a candle.
Knowing the current trends, should that surprise anyone?
Harvard Sucks.
Harvard anti-Semitic? And cows can fly! Sarcasm
One of the KGB’s favorite recruiting grounds. Not sarcasm.
...for the past thirty years...
Well it is supposed to be as Christian school so...
Again
What are Harvard's FR nicks?
Well, with a sample size of 1, my wife, the answer is none.
When I met her at a Jewish summer camp a few years before college, she had a Reagan/Bush pin on.
Chicago is not an Ivy
I mentioned “other elite schools”. Chicago is considered elite, as are Stanford, MIT, etc.
Yes you did. Chicago isn’t considered really eleite - although you did have a great football team, coached by Amos Alonzo Stagg - he invented the batting cage, the forward pass, the Statue of Liberty Play and the Fumble Ruskie play. Great athlete and coach.
Not considered “elite” by whom? Let’s see, 89 faculty members have won the Nobel Prize, which makes it rank 4th in the entire world for faculty having won Nobel Prizes. Only Harvard’s, Columbia’s, and Cambridge’s faculties have won more. BTW, each of those universities is larger than Chicago.

You’ll find that other ranking systems place it in a similar position.
No, I did not attend the University of Chicago, although I was admitted as an undergraduate. My degrees are from an elite liberal arts college and, for graduate school, Harvard and Stanford.
