If not for a quick-thinking and armed off-duty corrections officer in New York, there would potentially have been a mass-shooting incident in Queens on Sunday evening.

Correction Officer David Donegan was at a memorial event Sunday night when two men pulled out guns and pointed them at the crowd.

"Yesterday evening, as a crowd of people were observing an event remembering the passing of a friend, two individuals pulled out weapons and pointed them, firing at the crowd including our Correction Officer, David Donegan. Thankfully, Officer Donegan, who was off duty at the time, immediately pulled out his weapon and engaged them, firing several shots. During the exchange of shots fired, our officer was hit in the leg and transferred to a nearby hospital," said Correction Officers' Benevolent Association President Benny Boscio, reports FOX 5 New York.

The off-duty corrections officer needs at least as much range time as the perps have.

Uvalde should hire Corrections Officer Donnegan for the school police chief position. At least he knows what officers are supposed to do when facing an armed shooter.

There were two gunmen? What happened to the other gunman?

A good guy with a concealed pistol stopped two armed bad guys! Won’t be mentioned in the main stream media.

I used to feel safe enough carrying just a 5 shot 38+P S+W snubby, but recent events make a 19 capacity XDM more appealing. Too bad I lost them all last month during that fishing trip. Luckily the State where I live doesn’t seem to be a target for these MK-ULTRA programmed shooters.

Another couple of “monkey see, monkey do” chimpanzees’ dreams of fame and fortune scuttled. The “media” has to be heartbroken. They were really rackin’ them up yesterday on their much hated Independence Day that interfered with one of their beloved sexual deviant parade days.

Few things trigger libs harder than when the “good guy with a gun” narrative plays out in real life. 😆

Same here. I have taken to carrying an extra mag for my Glock as well.

Sorry about the loss of your advanced weaponry. Maybe be more careful next time?

Happily for libs, they won’t be triggered by stories like this because they are never reported in ‘news’ outlets they watch or read. According to them, there have been zero instances of a “good guy with a gun” stopping any bad events in the history of the world.

Because they try to convince people that good guys with guns are actually to be feared.

So, bad guys with guns were stopped by a good guy with a gun. Seems like maybe I heard that somewhere before.

When your very being is inclined towards criminality you tend to fear good guys, armed or not.
