Irwin – these are just three of the myriad miseries American patriots are willing to endure to defend our country. But today's military is asking too much of our young people, as evidenced by the crashing recruitment rates that threaten to deplete a military already running short of soldiers. Have our young people suddenly turned from heroes to zeros, ne'er-do-well heirs of the brave warriors who confronted the forces of tyrannical gun control at Lexington and Concord?
No. The kids are alright. The problems lie echelons above.
Here's a little leadership secret that's actually not a secret at all to competent commissioned and non-commissioned officers. There are no bad cohorts of soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and whatever the hell Space Force people are called. There are only bad leaders, and we have the worst military leadership in American history, starting right at the top with a commander-in-chief who is less like Ike than Beavis.
In fact – and this rips me up to say because I would not trade my about 27 years in the Army for anything – the reluctance to enlist of the traditional, normal Americans who are most likely to serve and who are the most desirable for service, is entirely rational. You do have an obligation to serve your country in some way, the military being the highest and best way for those who are able. But you do not have an obligation to do so if your life is going to be squandered by a leadership whose strategies are a disaster, whose priorities are not the defense of this country but some sort of bizarre pan-global progressive ideology...

Everytime a Confederate statue was desecrated, and no one did anything about it, the US Army lost another potential 100,000 Southern good old boy recruits.

The point I was trying to make is it’s a compulsion, not a choice. It’s not like choosing paint schemes for your car. And yes, there are those who seem to control it and not let this predisposition run their lives - see below Richard Grenell. How learned it all is - nurture instead of nature is perhaps debatable. We are our genes, we are our environment, we are our experiences, we are our personal decisions and to some extent we are our luck. I think it’s certainly a developmental disorder since there is no gay gene. I am willing to be proved wrong.
Trump’s DNI Grennell is a good example, gay admittedly so but does his job and does not lead with “I’m Gay” into every social\professional interaction. I know DAOs that worked with him when he was Ambassador to Germany, they had nothing but good to say about him. He seemed to be an effective DNI.

The Armed Services are 58% white males. They’d be a mutiny if pushed hate on the white troops. The Troops just laugh at that, because they’re mostly kids who have accepted blacks and gays—rightly or wrongly, but that’s about it.
I can say the REAL indoctrination was the COVID jab, not how racist or homophobic they are. Sadly, everyone took it, except for those few that took the discharge. THAT is and was shameful, and a direct assault on our troops by Creepy Joe Biteme.
I admire your imagination, but no. LGBTQ's aren't a sufficient population to materially increase the size of the military. They're too focused on themselves to enter the military voluntarily.
Case in point: during a pandemic, Pete stays home for several months on maternal leave.

No one wants to serve with pansy-assed transgenders prancing around and throwing their bullshit in your face. And we stand to lose something like 40,000 enlisted and officers who were smart enough to NOT get the clot shot.

And since the military was, is and always will be a product of the country's prevailing mores; it's in sad shape. IMO, only adversity can rid the country and its armed forces of the the crap that can't be tolerated when all the chips are on the line. I wouldn't recommend a youngster sign up, unless I was certain they had a true understanding of and love for the Constitution.

This is timely. I discouraged the parents and their two children at our dinner table last night. We spoke about my career, and then I explained why they’d be idiots to join today’s military.

Young masculine males, warrior material, will not bother taking the trouble to serve in the military when it has no usefulness in their journey to manhood.
Telling young men ‘become a Soldier or Marine and be a warrior’ doesn’t have the same appeal when it is followed by telling them ‘but make sure you bring along your sister, or your girlfriend, or your mom if she is under 40, because the job is so easy and meaningless and disrespected now that girls and middle age moms can do it’
I would strongly advise any straight white male to avoid the current US Military like the plague. These people hate you. They will denigrate you, force you to endure “training” that is designed to humiliate you, and they will throw your life away with their stupidity. If you dare speak up about any of their insane ideology, you can expect the most severe reprisal. Forget it. You’ve got better things to do with your life.
