Jeff Bezos chastised President Biden Saturday for blaming gas station companies for sky-high prices at the pump — declaring the commander-in-chief either employed “misdirection” or displayed a “deep misunderstanding” of economic fundamentals.
In a Saturday afternoon tweet, the official presidential account wrote, “My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril.”
“Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product,” Biden added. “And do it now.”

If economics worked that way it would be great. It doesn’t.

Most gasoline today is sold by convenience stores and mass retailers like Costco. They have no refineries or oil fields-they buy on the open market at the lowest cost and often sell at the lowest price. Any attempt by the Feds to control or freeze means Costco shuts the pumps down.

When Biden attacked gas station owners, I was thinking, “don’t they only make 3-5 cents per gallon?”
Bezos has a case of the red-ass because the Dutch won’t dismantle a steel girder bridge that is blocking his new mega-yatch from leaving the shipyard!
Fuel cost are affecting Amazon...huge. I’m sure its cutting into profits.

Either that or he could just tell employers to pay people more so they can afford the higher prices. You know, as long as we’re living in Fantasy Land where the laws of economics don’t apply and ‘Rat policies never have disastrous unintended consequences.
