Kaliningrad was separated from Russia in 1992, when Russia agreed to recognize the independence of Lithuania under the condition of uninterrupted transit to Kaliningrad.

See treaty signed by Lithuania guaranteeing this here: https://treaties.un.org/doc/Publication/UNTS/Volume%201831/volume-1831-I-31342-English.pdf

Many people assume that if a NATO country is attacked, that all other NATO countries are obligated to come to their defense.

There is an important exception to this rule -- when a NATO country is the aggressor and attacks first.

A blockade is an act of war...

How enthusiastic are Americans about dying for a country hardly anyone can find on a map?

Will the people of Hungary, Belgium, and Denmark be enthusiastic to die for Lithuania's new blockade? Surely Turkey will jump right in there...

Moreover, the US is also switching its strategies in its practice of color revolutions, Zhang said. "Funding the oppositions to achieve regime change was the main method, but now the US is increasingly trying to change other countries' diplomatic policies to ensure the countries' likely support of US global policies. This has been shown to be the stance of Lithuania and a few other countries." - written in December 2021

It’s not a blockade.

Once again the Russians and their FRminions are being drama queens.

Trains are moving. People are moving. Sanctioned cargo is not.

Russia has aircraft. They have ships. Russia has lots of options,

They need to shut up and go away.

So if someone blocked all sea traffic into US ports, you wouldn’t consider that a blockade since we could still fly cargo in?

You are retarded.

Wait a minute. I thought the Lithuania was sunk by the Germans on May 7, 1915...

"How enthusiastic are Americans about dying for a country hardly anyone can find on a map?"

I can point out a handful of posters on this site that seem pretty eager to have Americans dying for a country hardly anyone can find on a map.

That’s exactly how WW1 started. All the major powers had these moron treaties to go to war with no recourse if another became involved in a war. Then they just started adding new countries with each other and then idiot Russia signed one with little Serbia. So when Serbia started fighting Austrian-Hungary EVERYBODY was pulled in.

Except the USA but old Wilson made sure we didn’t miss out on that one.

Anyone that says the world isn’t in danger of getting escalated into a bigger war should look at what happened in 1914;

I believe the United States and other NATO countries are behind these moves. The warmongers are daring Russia to respond and escalate hostilities against NATO.

It’s not a blockade, Russia can still go around. And given how Russia took Crimea, and that Putin has been making noises, it’s just smart for Lithuania to decide that if Russia wants to sneak military around again they can do in their boats, not on Lithuania’s rails.

Konigsberg, Twangste or Krolewiec.

Kaliningrad was named after Stalin’s most trusted sidekick!
One of the only three original (~50) politburo members who somehow survived all Stalin’s purges. One lucky guy!

Russians have no business being there!
I am sure Lithuania consulted allies before starting this.

I am sick of all the Russian propaganda here!

So, the trains aren’t running? That is simply incorrect. And there is free navigation between Russian ports.

Put the string back in. This is not an act of war. All you guys have a war woody about Russia. They are a laughing stock on the world stage. You are a laughing stock on FR.

I hope you guys are making up the deficits on the donations to FR. Your constant America Hate is worse than AOC. Your behavior is poor and you should feel shame for your constant whining about how poorly Russia is being treated. I hope your relatives are under the range of the MLRS we just sent there.

I’d bet my lunch money on that. There’s no way Lithuania would decide to do this on their own. The only question is what they were promised ahead of time.

From The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 :

  Hysteria \Hys*te"ri*a\, n. [NL.: cf. F. hyst['e]rie. See
     Hysteric.] (Med.)
A nervous affection, occurring almost exclusively in women,
in which the emotional and reflex excitability is
exaggerated, and the will power correspondingly diminished,
so that the patient loses control over the emotions, becomes
the victim of imaginary sensations, and often falls into
     paroxism or fits.
     [1913 Webster]

Note: The chief symptoms are convulsive, tossing movements of
the limbs and head, uncontrollable crying and laughing,
and a choking sensation as if a ball were lodged in the
throat. The affection presents the most varied
symptoms, often simulating those of the gravest
diseases, but generally curable by mental treatment
           alone. Hysteric

So everyone with legitimate concerns about an expanding, escalating war is suffering from Hysteria, while those advocating policies that will ensure it are the calm rational ones.
