The Supreme Court handed President Joe Biden a victory Thursday, ruling that he can shut down a Trump administration program designed to restrict immigration at the southern border.

The court said in a 5-4 ruling that the Biden administration acted properly in seeking to end the "Remain in Mexico" policy, formally known as the Migrant Protection Protocols. It required people seeking asylum at the southern border, mainly from Central America, to wait in Mexico while their claims were decided.

The court is saying “Executive Orders” are just that and don’t remain after administration change.
“You want something...pass a law”

Agreed, I would have been shocked for the court to rule otherwise.

I’m old. I got interested in politics back in the 60s. I don’t remember a single period where conservatives or liberals (or whoever) got 100% of what they wanted. The current winning streak with the SCOTUS includes Roe, 2nd Amendment carry laws, slapping down EPA bureaucrats. Those are monumental decisions, far beyond anything that was hoped for just a few years ago.

I’m smiling and taking the wins.

If all the 50-60 million criminal, illegal alien invaders wore the same uniform, we’d look like a country under occupation.

My guess this will allow 3 million a year come across the Mexican border. My bet is only 5% are vaccinated for Covid. This will make them healthier than stupid Americans who got jabbed. They are younger, this is the incoming replacement population.

Most are from Central America. Then South America. Then the rest of the world.

Not suppressed. It was implemented by EO but should have been passed as law.

Sadly, it was the right decision legally.

Biggest reason we need a change in Congress and the Presidency.

the remain in Mexico policy, but until it’s codified in law, it was just an executive branch policy

It was agreed to in an international treaty before Trump's time in office. Only applies to 'refugee' aliens. And we have a lot of qualifying conditions not being enforced by the globalist administration.

Should have been 9-0 sending it back to the judge. This was a great decision. Sadly many don’t read it.

Actually, Congress is being put on the hook to legislate.... Think this one thru like the other cases - this comes down to whose domain it belong under, e.g., in this case congress. This may appear to be about EOs, however, once Congress makes a law that then becomes the law.

Every EO carrying the weight of law should be on the Congressional or State legislatures plate within 45-days and law to that either passed or not, allowing implementation of the EO or not.

Folks, this was a non-starter. We were banking on executive orders, which change at the WHIM of the sitting president. This was a guaranteed loss. It is not the way to solve the border issue. The Supreme Court is not at fault for the border chaos. The Demopublican machine is.

If you asked me, I would say that the “refugee” petitions should not be accepted from illegal border crossers. We will never have the capacity to evaluate them, and they are increasing exponentially. In fact, this will ensure that immigrants more deserving than the line jumpers are excluded.

The mass invasion and the mass murders. I live near Brentwood Long Island NY where under the Obama caliphate MS-13 gang members from El Salvador were let in thru Obamas “unaccompanied minors” scam. These animals ended up killing 30 people in Brentwood, most of them teens who they hacked to death with machetes. Under Biden I would imagine a tidal wave of these psychos are now in.

The decision was correct, and it should have been 9-0.
