~ Remembering Our Troops!! ~

Air Shows Are The Best!

Megan Murat signals her enthusiasm before taking to the sky aboard an F-18 Super Hornet aircraft assigned to the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. The mission of the Blue Angels is to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps through flight demonstrations and community outreach while inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country. Canteen Mission Statement

Showing support and boosting the morale of
our military and our allies' military
and family members of the above.
Honoring those who have served before.

That’s A Lot Of Paint

This F-16 was painted in a heritage design as a means of honoring Lt. Col. Gary “Nordo” North’s actions during a routine Operation Southern Watch mission in Iraq and Air Force heritage. The paint job required 1,500 man-hours and over 13 gallons of paint. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Caleb F. Butler)

Happy 75th US Air Force!

DAYTON, Ohio -- To honor the past, present and future, the theme for the 75th anniversary is “Innovate, Accelerate, Thrive – The Air Force at 75.” That focus captures a range of activities and observations that will take place throughout the year and highlight the anniversary’s significance. Here a museum visitor reads about history in the 75th Anniversary of the USAF exhibit at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. (U.S. Air Force photo by Ty Greenlees)

This has been the craziest summer I’ve experienced in a very long time, and it seems that you and others are having weird weather patterns, too.

Maybe it wasn’t today that I checked the cam. The day has been busy so I probably got it mixed up. Hope they get rain soon and that you do, too. And we need more. We probably got between 1/4 and 1/2 inch last night. It really made the yard look clean and green, but much more is needed to get us out of this drought.

You're right, Radu. It's no fun being outside when it's hot but unfortunately that is what they're forecasting for next week. We had a great visit to Wichita Ridge yesterday. Here are all the pics.

The weather patterns are screwy everywhere, not just the US. A crazy summer, for sure. I’m ready for it to be over!

At a glance, it looked fairly clear at the lake this afternoon when the sun was high but a closer look at trees across the lake, the haze was visible. But when the cam was aimed at the airport, it was a lot more obvious.
The whole scene is alien to me because no mountains are visible and those are big mountains up there.

You got a nice rainfall last night. I’m jealous. LOL
Not a drought breaker but every little bit helps.

At least you get to wait until next week. The heat came back here today and will go through next week. Ugh!

You’ll just have to hop in the lake with Gizmo to cool off. LOL

Good morning, E...((HUGS))...Gizmo looks like a happy dog on an adventure. Until the truck...hot and tired dog.

Hope you boys have a great adventure today.

Just looking at the cam...weird to see it that light at midnight LOL!....and you’re right. It’s really hazy there now.

Guess I’d better go now. Naturally, it’s later than I thought. But I am sleepy and that might be a good thing. See ya Saturday! Have a great weekend at the museum! Hope you have more vets with interesting stories.

I hope the wind shifts so the smoke will clear out tomorrow. It’s going to make things miserable for all of you as long as it’s that thick. What a mess.

Get a much-deserved good night’s sleep!

I love checking in on the cam around midnight this time of year. The sky is usually pretty with clouds and colors. Not so much tonight. Just drab gray.

Get some good sleep. See ya Saturday night.
I don’t know what to expect as far as turnout at the museum goes, what with this being a holiday weekend. We’ll see.

My Trainer/Friend (who is also an awesome cellist and song-writer) came to the house with several different training collars, and we tried them all on Tippy to find the one she (and I) was more comfortable with. Then we walked around, then added one other dog walking with us, and then another. We let the dogs sniff each other and get aquainted. Then we went to a field and let them run around together.

We will be doing more “socialization” but the first lesson was an amazing success.

Hai Kathy! (((HUGS))) Well the internet here was down (yet again) so couldn’t post anything until this morning; still goes up and down every ten minutes or so, in when I can.
