WASHINGTON (AP) — A political shift is beginning to take hold across the U.S. as tens of thousands of suburban swing voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party's gains in recent years are becoming Republicans.
More than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by The Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.
But nowhere is the shift more pronounced — and dangerous for Democrats — than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against Trump's Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back. Over the last year, far more people are switching to the GOP across suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta and Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Republicans also gained ground in counties around medium-size cities such as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Raleigh, North Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Des Moines, Iowa.

Democrats need to get more left. That’s the real problem. They haven’t gone far enough left yet.
Yes, too much overconfident red wave tsunami etc.
Always come from a slightly underdog place.
Ppl won’t vote if they think it’s a shu-in.
Fox reports the 1 M switch.
Most won’t reports that there us also an upswing of 600k republican to dem switch.
Only one Fox person said that, don’t know if it is true
Something to ponder.
But it is for sure lots of GOPers
are getting serious, and a LOT of dems waking up to their party’s major defects.
What will be the number in 1 month? AP probably figures Dobb decision will stop them from switching. Too bad for their bitty brains.
“Good signs,”
I doubt it. I figure it’s Operation Chaos on a grand scale. RATs change to GOP to vote against MAGA candidates in primaries so the RINO candidate wins. Then they re-register as Dem for the November election.
I think the same. The dims stole a presidential election and to date, no one has even been indicted.
FYI: The U.S. Supreme Court, in correcting the numerous errors of Roe vs. Wade (1973), and Casey vs. Planned Parenthood (1992) IN NO WAY banned the ghoulish practice of abortion. What the Supremes ACTUALLY did, legally speaking, is to return the power to LEGISLATE abortion regulations to the STATES, where the PEOPLE can vote on it. Thus, the decision was strongly pro-democracy and pro-freedom.
Meanwhile the Democrats have been busy registering millions of dead and non-existent people to vote this November.
It’s getting so bad for the Democrats that seventy-nine dead people and three voting machines have also switched parties.
Those 1 million are liberals contaminating the Primary pool I bet.
As long as they aren’t switching parties to pick the most liberal RINO.
It is far, far better to have a wimpy party you can vote out of office than a fascist party that you can’t.
The original Neocons were disaffected Democrats.
In the 1960s and 1970s, New Left Democrats sided with the PLO rather than with Israel. And so, many liberal Jewish Democrats became Republican Neocons. They were hawks, but they retained their leftist views on social and cultural issues.
I’ll believe it when liberals admit what was done to Trump was atrocious.
And 1/6 investigations are a sham.
Don’t party hearty yet. Some 633,000 switched to democrat.
Good news towards the 4th celebration
When the people who ran the ballot stuffing operations switch sides, we will be in the clear.
“How many have switched to mess with the GOP primaries?”
I’m guessing about 75%.
“Covid lockdowns, masking, vaccinations, etc were conducted in an authoritarian way that people did not like.”
Sadly, it started under Trump and they’ll use that
You don’t win a war losing two to one, ie… for every one that changes to Conservative you have two crossing the border for free stuff and Liberal votes
