More than 1 million voters switch to GOP in warning for Dems

WASHINGTON (AP) — A political shift is beginning to take hold across the U.S. as tens of thousands of suburban swing voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party's gains in recent years are becoming Republicans.

More than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by The Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.

But nowhere is the shift more pronounced — and dangerous for Democrats — than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against Trump's Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back. Over the last year, far more people are switching to the GOP across suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta and Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Republicans also gained ground in counties around medium-size cities such as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Raleigh, North Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Des Moines, Iowa.

Good signs, but do not get overconfident.

Got to quietly take out deep staters to the swamp and leave them there. They’ll feel at home.

How many have switched to mess with the GOP primaries?

Probably a bunch of liberals switching to vote for RINO’s in primaries.

I left the GOP last year because it wasn’t conservative enough.

1,000.000/43 states = 23,000 + per state average. Hmmm, a fair start but not that impressive at all. In a two party system the GOP should be kicking butt and taking names at this point.

The problem is the USA does not have a normal, working class party for these disaffected Democrats to join.

Why? IMO the GOP is the Cheap Labor Party and everyone knows it. These disaffected voters see how the GOPe has fought Trump and MAGA. Having said that, a lot of people will still join the GOP against their own political best self interests in a lot of areas.

My guess is most disaffected Democrats will just register independent instead of joining what they perceive ( and rightly so in many ways ) The globalist anit-Trump country clubbers.

Yes, I agree.

Democrats are very disaffected by their own party and its shift leftward.

You should listen to Ben Shapiro interview Matt Taibbi from yesterday. Great interview of a liberal journalist who covered elections and what he is seeing happening out there.

Basically, the key to winning is to distrust the big institutions of gov't and business while endorsing that nobody should be taking parental rights away regarding the education of their children.

The GOP has erased the Dem lead on education due to their indoctrination. Candidates that focus on that plus how our institutions cannot be trusted (Covid mistakes as mandates) and every Dem can be beaten.

If there was a working class America First Party they would be the majority. RINO globalists that run the GOP are just not that appealing...

No, there are not that many democrat supporters. Fraudulent voters maybe, not that many real voters out there for the left.

The Democrat party is devolving into a patchwork of mentally ill, mentally confused, racially divisive, sexually befuddled, humorless, preachy snowflakes that can’t seem to function in a society of people.

As always, they’ve pushed too far and people are beginning to see this. Only the media continues to be perpetually bewildered...

When they get elected, they do nothing to stop or reverse Democrat damage.

History, all the way back to 1870, shows they will continue to do nothing.

Games people play.

We don’t have to turn democrats into republicans.

The events of the world, especially the economy, have discouraged them, and I believe they will be no shows on November 8th.

But in any case, as Carville said in 1992, “It’s the economy, stupid.”

Right now, the Republicans would be smart to form a new “Contract with America”. They need to nationalize the election. Pelosi-ize, Bidenize and AOC-ize it. This starts with a plan they can all point to.

Where is it?

Baris has been tracking this. FL for ex went from a +1m D lead in 2012 to an R lead of over 130,000. That’s a 1.13m shift in a decade. PA has seen a similar, though not quite as huge, shift of well over 100,000. Same with NC. AZ recovered back to where it was in 2016 after seeing the GOP lead in registrations drop to 110,000. Now we’re back to over 140,000 and gaining. NC ditto. OH ditto.

Weak bait from the Dissociated Press. They want you to be complacent. They want you to stay home and forget about the mid-terms. Part of the next phase of thier usurpation of power.

The keys to winning in 2022-2024:

Covid lockdowns, masking, vaccinations, etc were conducted in an authoritarian way that people did not like....especially when we found out contrary truths.

Intelligence agencies and other government investigating your online comments, presence and communications without your authority.

Big tech giving government all your information and conducting surveillance on you while shutting down your free speech.

Children must be protected from those that would deny parents from having a say in what their child is exposed to and taught.

Smart energy policy that gives stability to the nation while still pursuing clean forms of energy as they become economically viable and more reliable (they are neither now)

5 policy positions that will give you a win over a rival Democrat.

Did they do it because they agree with republicans or to wreck the primaries?

Agreed, we need to plainly state the items that represent the platform of the party. Low taxes, lower energy prices, America First, etc. Keep it simple.

This would help in races across the country especially in places like NH where the majority of the voters are Independents. The Dems are spending huge amounts of money here to get Hassan reelected. Her ads are constant across TV & social media. I hardly see anything for the Rep running for US Senate in the primary.

Same story with the US Congress elections here in NH. There is no coverage at all. No clear choice, which gives the incumbent a big advantage.

Yeah, a chunk of these are Democrats voting for the worst choice in a primary.

$5 gas will do that.

But Dominion will take care of the election results. And I blame the GOP in each of those States. Their pretend investigation was just that. Pretending.

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

That's near me. All of Harrisburg and part of the surrounding counties (Cumberland, Dauphin and York) consists of the congressional district of Scott Perry (R), chairman of the House Freedom Caucus. He has been elected and reelected by the growing number of Republicans. That should give you an idea of how conservative this area really is.

The increase in Republican registrations has very little to do with the Pennsylvania GOP. The state GOP is filled with establishment types. They support the wrong things and endorse the wrong candidates. For instance, there is no Republican candidate for the state assembly for parts of Dauphin County. That district is completely inside of Perry's congressional district.

If we are serious about ridding the state GOP of RINOs and globalists, then it is imperative that we take the Republican party back precinct by precinct, replace every township and county commissioner, completely turn every school board upside down and elect MAGA first candidates to every state house and senate seat. But we need to run candidates to do that. The work has just begun.
