The Supreme Court’s Abortion Decision Does Not Change the Midterms
Red State ^ | Jun 25, 2022 | Jeff Charles

Posted on 06/25/2022 7:17:25 PM PDT by T Ruth

I predicted previously that the overturning of Roe v. Wade would not affect the outcome of the upcoming midterm Congressional elections. I still stand by that prediction, now that the Supreme Court has handed down its ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson. Nevertheless, folks on both sides of the aisle appear to believe that this development could increase Democrats’ chances of avoiding a total shellacking in November.

Now that Republicans have succeeded in overturning Roe, some have surmised that this could be a pyrrhic victory that comes back to haunt them later. Republican strategists told Politico that they are concerned that the court’s ruling might adversely impact the outcome of the upcoming congressional elections.

“This is not a conversation we want to have,” said John Thomas, one of the strategists. “We want to have a conversation about the economy. We want to have a conversation about Joe Biden, about pretty much anything else besides Roe … This is a losing issue for Republicans.”

***

“You go to any diner in America, and nobody’s talking about this,” said Dave Carney, a national Republican strategist. “That’s not what’s driving the conversation. Real people, working people, people who vote, are talking about the incompetence of the president, and then they go down the list of six or seven things.”

***

Democrats, for their part, escalated their rhetoric after the decision was handed down on Friday. When the court’s draft opinion was leaked in May, they began laying the groundwork for the campaign they would launch once the ruling was issued. Now, they are engaging in a full-court press to excoriate the overturning of Roe and using alarmist talking points to rile up their voting base.

On top of the New York gun ruling, ouch!

Yes, the Left is really chapped right now.

I may be wrong, but the older women get, the more they regret
having terminated their baby, if they have a conscience at
all.

Our big play, and we never make it, is that the Black
population is kept down due to a larger percentage of their
women having abortions rather than carry to term.

We need to dig up quotes of Sanger’s eugenics focused outlook,
and make them very public.

She addressed reducing the number of Blacks, and I don’t
think many Blacks get that.

This was all a big sham by Sanger and the real racists,
the Democrats who play act caring about Blacks, all the
while manipulating them to genocide themselves off.

Frankly it angers me, and I’m White.

The lion gets nothing but teeth and claws until she goes into heat.
He will most often not even make the attempt until the
heat scent is detected.
A new alpha will trigger that by killing or banishing the young.

No rape.

I went to Google to do a search on Margaret Sanger and they have links to Politifact and other left leaning websites trying to disprove what Sanger really said about blacks and abortion. In many of her letters and writings she makes it pretty clear that she saw abortion as a method to reduce the number of blacks, other minorities and what she deemed other undesirables, such as the disabled and the mentally ill. She was not an open-minded intellectual by any stretch. You nailed it. She was an out and out racist! Seriously, what differentiates Planned Parenthood from the KKK in how they have dealt with blacks?

Tens of millions of Blacks evaporated. That’s what separates
them. The KKK was a despicable organization, but they killed
maybe 1/2,000,000th as many Blacks as the abortionists did.

Sorry to hear that about Sanger. Her message really needs to
be aired to the Black community.

Thanks for looking her up. You more than likely knew about
her long before this, but it doesn’t hurt to remind ourselves.

I think I got that fraction wrong, but the numbers are way
different. The abortionists make the KKK look tame.

I am sorry I agree with you.

This will fire up a base that would have been content to just ignore the midterms. And perhaps some on “our” side will sit back and rest on the laurels.

It only takes a few votes either way.

Only good to come of it pertaining to the midterms is the flushing out of scum in the GOP. Just like the red flag confiscation bill many of these rat GOP signed on to we will here more of these feckless ball less congress people we thought were ok but are not and we can kick them to the curb in the midterms

Wait until this month's GDP report comes out, and then next month's and the month after. They won't be talking about Roe v Wade anymore, they'll be talking about who will better save people's retirement savings.

If anything, it strengthens Republican positions and brings the base who may have already thrown their hands up in frustration at the party back into the fold.

It’s not just Dobbs. The left will also hit on the threats to other decisions like Obergfell (gay marriage), Griswold (contraception), and Lawrence (consensual sex). Watch them start in on the kinds of birth control like morning after pills and some IUDs that some state laws now make illegal. They’ll put the fact that in vitro fertilization may now be illegal in other states front and center. They won’t leave this with Roe alone.

My wife is more Conservative than me, but she’s upset at this ruling. Legally she understands it, but I’m not sure that’s going to make a difference to her when she votes in November. Trump may end up being the biggest gift the Democrats have ever gotten.

Lot's of murderous everyday pagans are riled up about this. It's very fashionable.

Lying RINOS are mad too because they are completely exposed now.

I'm gratified. Lying RINOs losing in the fall, is music to my ears.

Tell your wife that child sacrifice was never the "Law Of The Land" and it never will be.

Romans 8:22
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now

We don’t care about your bible passages. We are going through fertility treatments and some States are considering laws with no carve-outs for fertility treatments, which COULD mean that the IVF process would be banned in some States because idiot legislators have their head up their own ass.

If your “fertility” treatment is impacted by abortion laws it isn’t about fertility. When we were facing fertility problems we ruled out some treatment options because of moral considerations. And because we cared more about the children than ourselves.
