HARRISBURG, Pa. —
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has reacted to the United States Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Video above: Wolf vows to protect abortion access ahead of court's decision
Here is the governor's full statement:
"First and most importantly, it is critical that everyone understands that abortion services are available and unharmed in Pennsylvania by today’s Supreme Court action. Providers may still provide reproductive health care services and patients should continue the health care plan they’ve developed with their physicians.
"Nonetheless, I am deeply disappointed in today’s Supreme Court opinion and the impact this decision will have nationwide. The right to bodily autonomy—and privacy as a whole—is under attack in this country. We must do more to protect the rights of women and pregnant people in every state across the country that doesn’t have a governor willing to wield their veto pen.
"As we approach a critical election cycle here in Pennsylvania, I cannot stress enough how important it is to exercise your personal right to vote. Elections matter.
"This decision did not happen overnight. Right-wing extremists have been strategically planning to dismantle decades long decisions to further their agendas and divide our country with policies designed to infringe upon our freedoms. They have done so one vote at a time, one election at a time across our beloved nation. We cannot allow this to continue.
"Americans are feeling defeated and angry today, and I don’t blame them. However, as long as I am governor, I vow to protect abortion access and reproductive health care in Pennsylvania.
"To women and pregnant people in surrounding states and across the country where this isn’t the case, you are safe here in the commonwealth."
This new learning amazes me.
Explain to me the difference between women and "pregnant people"
Who are these "pregnant people" other than women?
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Pregnant people refers to a rare transsexual who identifies as male, but is pregnant due to actually being female. Since we are to be inclusive, we use bizarre language so as not to offend the sensibilities of that rare individual.
It’s ok to offend the sensibilities of all of us by using absurd language, but not ok to offend the sensibilities of thr transsexual. That’s how the liberals look at this.
Replying to post 1. By “Pregnant People” I think he means people like Ellen Page, who now goes by Elliot Page, but is still a biological female.
Wow, every lefty in the country is going to get a brand new 15 minutes because of this decision.
The MSM is going to go wall-to-wall with this issue, from now on, permanently. The entire MSM is going to turn itself into a nonstop pro-abortion propaganda machine.
There are going to be women who get pregnant solely for the purpose of getting their quest for an abortion made into a movie. There will be dozens of TV documentaries following individual women as they try to terminate their pregnancies. Thousands of documentaries if you count YouTube and other social media.
He’s deeply disappointed in what?
That other states now have to make the same kind of choices that PA did?
That’s omnipotent of you.....Smells like fascism.
“He’s deeply disappointed in what?”
He’s deeply disappointed because now HE has to stand accountable for his own decisions instead of passing the blame to the feds. Losers.
Being a resident of Pa, the red part, I feel qualified to make the statement that Tom Wolf is a dick with ears.
Attempts to request reasonable documentation or negotiate with the Wolf administration to rescind or lessen the emergency measures were stonewalled and refused for such a long period of time and to such a point of intransigence that a consituational ammendment was proposed and ratified to limit the emergency powers of the governor. Governor Wolf to this day remains unrepentant in his role to keep the state locked down.
Wolfie can take all his empty talk about freedoms and rights, wad them up real tight, and shove them up his front hole. He belongs in prison.
Tucker called Wolf a “slope-shouldered mediocrity”.
This is either going to help him or hurt him against Mastriano. Time will tell.
Says all the same people who wanted to force everyone to get the jab
In that case, hopefully it becomes HIS sin and not our entire nation.. And I'm assuming we, as a nation, no longer have to pay for it....in more ways than one. (?)
All pro-abortion people are very lucky. In that
Their mother did not abort them.
Says one of the most incompetent governors in the country 🤪
Srednik has not one whit of respect for this toad.
Oh STFU, jackass.
