The vote to overturn Roe v. Wade was 5-4. Alito wrote the majority opinion, joined by Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett.
The vote to uphold Mississippi’s abortion restriction was 6-3. Roberts voted with the majority for that outcome, but he said in a separate opinion that he would not have overturned Roe.

Can challenges to Obergfell be far behind? I doubt that many people will want 50 years of gay marriage to go by.
Ms Howe over there at SCOTUS blog shoud really leave her slant out of her writing/analysis.
It’s like reading ABC/NBC/CNN . . .
There was never any such right to begin with!
Quick. Someone send Hillary a nice “Thanks for losing the election” card.

Good.
But abortion should be legal because of the “emanations of a penumbra of the coveture of the emissions of the unspecified unrelated but still significant nonseqitur right to privacy”!
Excellent..!
I suspect that he joined the majority because he saw that his vote made no difference one way or the other.
MAZEL TOV !!!
Everyone should remember this was Trump’s Triumph.
He literally fought the Dogs of Hell to put Kavanaugh, Barrett and Gorsuch on the court.
And what is his reward?
All across the country today, the KGBI is arresting Republicans for....being Republicans.
No One is allowed to question the Great and Wondrous Gangster State.
PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!
Arm up, sensible people. The baby killers, who have already demonstrated they have no respect for life, will riot and kill over this.
Exactly. Funny how the baby killers are so adamant it’s in there when it’s always been a house of cards.
6 24 2022 will not forget this date. Praise God almighty!
Read it again.
And pray for the safety of all the people who work in the Pregnancy Crisis Centers.
As much as I hate to say it, thank you Mitch McConnell! Had he not stopped the chance for a vote on Merrick Garland, we wouldn’t be here!
Which was it?
6-3 with Roberts?
5-4 without Roberts?
Drudge headline says 5-4
CNBC says 6-3
Anyone?
Abortion was never ‘constitutional’ - it was always an overreach - a mistake by liberal elite judges who had zero respect for the Constitution. Today’s decision restores the majesty of the Court.
It is very important that all who are pleased by the decision, but who have ever held a neverTrump thought in their heads, to recognize that without Trump this could never have happened.
