The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that Republican lawmakers in North Carolina can intervene to defend the state’s voter ID law against legal challenges.
Supreme Court expands gun rights in major Second Amendment ruling DOJ: Maine violating ADA, over-institutionalizing children with disabilities The 8-1 decision did not deal directly with the lawfulness of the voter law, but rather which government bodies can defend the law in court.
The law that gave rise to the procedural dispute, S.B. 824, with only limited exceptions requires in-person and absentee voters to present one of 10 recognized forms of photo identification. The measure drew a swift legal challenge from the North Carolina State Conference of the NAACP and several of its affiliates.

“The measure drew a swift legal challenge from the North Carolina State Conference of the NAACP”
For the life of me, I cannot see how protecting the integrity of our elections is construed by NAACP and others as “voter suppression.” Their condemnation just smacks of them wanting zero controls to enable Dem cheating and fraud.
And the Jotato Regime is gearing up even more voter fraud/ballot tampering actions just in time for the midterms.
As with most leftist rants, the NAACP rant of "voter suppression" simply projects what they really advocate themselves - the suppression of votes that don't agree with their views.
And many thanks to President Trump...for making America's Court great again...
8-1?
The wise Latina dissented...
Remember, Blacks are incompetent for most of tasks of civilized life. they can’t get ID’s so therefore thwu don’t need one. /s
NAACP is 100% for ballot fraud.
It’s a good thing Latinos have overtaken blacks in the population of America.
It doesn’t say who the 1 is.
They want to legalize cheating and the race card is the means to get there.

Yes, that’s a very good take on what they are doing...aka, “projection.”
Nailed it. It’s the most vile, racist thing you could possibly say or imply about black people, isn’t it?
The Democrat-created “welfare state” is actually a government-run plantation!
Sotomayor was the lone dissenter.
Figures
Photo ID has already been to the mountain and we won. This is great news!
Gee it must be getting really tough to a a Surrender Monkey Caucus member. Gun control is now a non-issue; Photo ID will kick ash and reduce voter fraud, and soon abortion will be off the table as well.
Oh well on to whining that Shrek fetterperson will beat Oz and encouraging people to throw away their vote by writing in Kathy Barnette.
You people must be just a bundle of fun at a party.
One can look up voter ID laws. Nearly every country in the world has them. Our neighbors Mexico and Canada have them. Don;t we want to be more like “the rest of the world”? Then we need voter ID laws like the rest of the world. Remember a couple of years ago when they showed Angela Merkel and she had to show her ID to vote? Let’s catch up to the rest of the world and implement voter ID laws
That chapter of the NAACP is apparently a white supremacist organization - since they apparently believe whites are the only ones capable of showing someone an ID to vote and minorities, in their view, lack the same ability.
AND purple ink-stained fingers! Of course, that only works if you have an election DAY (like we used to) instead of an election SEASON. The idea of an election SEASON is absolutely nuts and there is only one reason for it — to enable Dem cheating. They are the ones that pushed for no clean-up of voter rolls, election season, illegally changing voting “laws” in contravention of state constitutions, no voter ID, same-day voter registration. Every last thing to make cheating rampant has been done by the dems.
It is the ultimate in racism and the bigotry of low expectations, is it not?
