perfect analogy.
I think Roberts will want to be the one writing the abortion decision.
This "should" put to rest whether the government argument that "assault weapons" are banned because they only had muskets when the 2nd Amendment was adopted.
Very, very unlikely. He wrote twice from December. It would be almost unheard of for a single justice to have three opinions from a sitting.
Actually, it’s a major restriction to those trying to infringe on the 2A.
“Even traitor Roberts joins the majority on this. Nice!”
Well, Roberts was instrumental in the Heller decision back in 2008 that stated the 2nd Amendment applied to private citizens and not just a Government militia. That was a 5-4 decision with Roberts providing the swing vote. As much grief as Roberts gets, he has been a supporter of 2nd Amendment rights.
“We all know Democrats will find 1,000 ways to circumvent laws they don’t like.”
Advise us on how the Democrats have circumvented the Heller and McDonald decisions that struck down laws preventing gun ownership? Cities like DC and Chicago completely outlawed the ownership of guns, and they got slapped down.
The McDonald ruling extended the right for private citizens to own guns to every state, county and city in the U.S. Dems/liberals got their butts handed to them in Heller and McDonald. Even the liberal 9th Circuit Court has been forced to recognize the 2nd Amendment rights of private citizens.
Agree .......
Thanks to the justices, especially Thomas and Kavanaugh for what they went through to get confirmed for the Court!
And thanks to TexasGurl24 for posting some of the text along with the news! Agreed on the doomers. This is a big win. :)
And also thanks to the NRA.
Thank you ... I was wondering.
I sincerely hope you are right but my experience with the left, and they are centered in NY, is that they have pull, control and influence. Judges at all levels are part of the problem and they are more than capable of stalling every inch of the way. People interested in their freedom and their rights often do poorly in NY courts.
The entire state and especially NYC thinks they are in charge and the rest of us are rubes lucky to be living with them.
Re: 121 - The doomers are a problem. Many push articles from news sources that are based on the flimsiest of factual data. The dooming started up in earnest in COVID-19 and was evident in the COVID-19 threads. These included so called FReepers that ere highly critical of people going off their property for even a casual drive, etc. There was a plenty of doom on those threads and people (including yours truly) were mocked at times for posting articles about how people were helping other people during the initial months of COVID-19.
The current doomers are those low intellect FReepers that make suggestions to vote for a Democrat in the general election rather than a Republican. Years ago that could be a banning offense on FR.
Amen!
its a sad day when the rino uniparty #4 turtle is better than the first 3 ahead of him for the presidency
but thats where we are now
I hope nobody is as ready and willing to not even try as you.
From being b..es after January 6, to seemingly HOPE for defeat against our side, I see not NEARLY ENOUGH has changed here.
It’s time to FIGHT, and I mean REALLY FIGHT, against the INSANE left.
Not TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK.
Or we’ll all be talking in solitary like those 50 people from the January 6th protests. Protests and nothing more.
I HATE the left
I only visit about once every six months lately.
Still too many doomers around?
We need FIGHTERS right now, more than ever.
Not doomers.
But REAL fighters.
Because we LAID DOWN AND PLAYED DEAD during the coup and ever since.
