Russia's 'outdated weapons' no match for Ukraine as 55% of forces WIPED OUT in Donbas

RUSSIA's "outdated weapons" have proven to be no match for Ukrainian defences as the latest intelligence report from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) shows 55 percent of Russian-backed forces have been wiped out in the Donbas region.

With the focus of the conflict heavily concentrated in the Donbas region in and around the strategic industrial city of Severodonetsk, Ukraine has called on the west to supply extra weapons to defend the territory. Russia has announced it has all but captured the city as heavy shelling continues, however, the cost of the operation has taken its toll on Russian personnel, with many killed or injured in the conflict.

According to the latest MoD report: “The Russian authorities have not released the overall number of military casualties in Ukraine since 25 March.

“However, the self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) publishes casualty figures for DPR forces.

“As of June 16, the DPR acknowledged 2128 military personnel killed in action, and 8897 wounded, since the start of 2022.

“The DPR casualty rate is equivalent to around 55 percent of its original force, which highlights the extraordinary attrition Russian and pro-Russian forces are suffering in Donbas..

“It is highly likely that DPR forces are equipped with outdated weapons and equipment.

In WW II, we fired Generals all the time, seems like that worked out pretty well.

As I continue to say, you could be 100% correct but everything we’ve been told thru the western media has been propaganda, some of it true, some of it false, we simply don’t know from one day to the next what to believe.

“And we know all this how?”

Because Red Army troops are not on the Polish border right now and they’re not rolling into Moldova as Moscow had expected to do by now.

Keep in mind that Ukraine is right on the Russian border. It’s not like the Red Army had to go 10,000 miles to get there.

This should be a total cakewalk for Russia. Yet this war on the Russian side has devolved almost to the level of World War One trench warfare and artillery duels.

There should have been Russian tanks lining the Polish border five deep by now.

You cannot convince me that this war is going according to Putin’s plan.

Yes, there’s propaganda. That’s to be expected. But the fact that Russia hasn’t won this war is undeniable.

Again, that fact is a greater defeat for Russia than anything else because Russia’s enemies are now thinking about things they would have never thought before.

We were in Afghanistan for 20 years, fighting people who had no armor, no artillery, no Air Force, etc....and left in shame and the people we were supposedly fighting still in power.

You say facts on the ground, yet those facts are most likely coming from Western Media sources who have proven to be liars.

The point is, no one knows who is relying on western media knows what is true and what is a lie.

While Russia has tons of outdated equipment everywhere, Ukraine is now getting much higher quality NATO supplied equipment and using it quite strategically and effectively against the poorly equipped Russians in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

“Because Red Army troops are not on the Polish border right now and they’re not rolling into Moldova as Moscow had expected to do by now.”

Russia never had plans to enter either of those countries. I doubt he wants western Ukraine either, though he may be forced to enter there should this war drag on.

Russia is a corrupt third world nation with nukes. In the end unless they crack open a can of sunshine they will lose.

I am coming around to a similar conclusion. I see no way Ukraine will benefit from a prolonged war of attrition, which will inevitably end in some negotiated settlement anyway. We send ‘Heavy weapons” in dribs and drabs, like three or four howitzers at a time, which are not enough to make a difference, but serve to prolong the agony.

It is time to ask “cui bono?” To whose benefit is this war being drawn out.

During the course of a day here on FR, we can get an article that Russia is using “outdated” weapons and is getting wiped out, then in the same day we will get an article that Ukraine is getting hammered and their casualties can’t be sustained.

Three UK media outlets; The Sun, The Express, and the Daily Mail, seem to be living in an alternate reality where Ukraine is winning handedly.

The rest of the Western media is slowly coming to grips with the fact that Ukraine is not winning. Not even close.

I bet the same was true during the Cold War. They weren’t actually tested, were they ? Did we know for a fact their bombs would actually explode or if their missiles would carry their payloads all the way to the target destination ? Rush used to call the Soviet Union a third world economy with a first world military, but if he were alive he would have called them a third world economy with a third world military..but with massive tv propaganda. Much like NK.

Excellent post. I will only add what I said months ago on a different thread: were it not for having nukes, the Russian military would be no better, perhaps on par with the Iraqi Republican Guard of Desert Storm 1.

And that’s a generous statement.

Hi MucusMaximum this propaganda is always good for a laugh!
.
bad news for Z on the battlefield.
yesterday Russians captured Toshkovka.
As of June 21, Russian units liberated the towns of Ustinovka, Mirnaya Dolina and the village of Podlesnoe (near Mirnaya Dolina).
.
the Russian military reached the town of Rai-Aleksandrovka and established a tight fire control over the only road that leads from the areas of Zolotoe and Gorskoe. According to reports, over 2,000 troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces appeared to be encircled there. If Russians don’t divert to go for the L-chansk oil refinery , these Ukes are toast.

Russia is using the “staying power” that saved them in WW2. That is, just keep pouring in men and equipment until the other side runs out of bullets.
