According to an article in the Federalist, the popular tourist destination of Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia (one of the largest living history museums in the world) has apparently learned nothing from a related disastrous decision by Disney’s woke leadership. The author said, “…it has faithfully depicted the founding culture of America in a meticulously recreated, and often re-enacted, Revolutionary-era capital. This depiction included America’s undeniably traditional, Western, largely Judeo-Christian roots. But now Williamsburg has gone woke. In doing so, its leadership and staff are displaying conspicuous enmity toward the highly reasoned position held by America’s founders -- a position at odds with today’s LGBT dogma.”
Williamsburg was the original state capitol of Virginia, but the Revolutionary War convinced the government to move the capitol to less militarily vulnerable Richmond. Left behind were many of the original colonial-era government buildings creating a ghost town and by the 20th century most required serious repairs. However, thanks to a visionary endowment in 1926 by the John. D. Rockefeller Jr. foundation, a massive preservation effort was started. Since then, it has been operated by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a not-for-profit, educational institution. I went there as a child, took my daughter and most recently took my grandchildren. I repeated the process at nearby Jamestown.
Although tourism seriously declined during the pandemic, creating a financial strain, the area continues to attract and impress thousands of visitors annually from all over the world. However, guests attending this June may be in for a surprise. Whoever made the programming change had to really contort the truth to allege some historical LGBT contributions. Following is a small sample reported by the Federalist:
“It’s not merely during Pride month, which Williamsburg now celebrates. Colonial Williamsburg has established an ongoing Gender and Sexual Diversity Research Committee

They could put the gay flag inside a closet somewhere, and that’d probably be historically accurate.
Wanna bet Deep State is laundering taxpayer money to them in return for going woke...
Duh. What do you think happens in a Marxist cultural revolution? All it took was for good men to do nothing.
I think Goofy is running things at Dizzyney.
In the Bachelor Farmer’s house, no doubt.
Isn’t this the mechanism taking place with ALL of these woketard organizations?
Go woke, go broke.
Life under a command-and-control regime is no way to live. Trying to guilt the good sober citizens into accepting passively the blandishments of all the “solemn” promises made in the name of “equality” and democracy” to be introduced under this command-and-control scheme, is just another path to the enrichment of the few at the expense of the many. Those promises are never meant to be kept. And they never deliver, Grinding poverty and uncertainty for the masses is almost always the outcome, and a militaristic oligarchy keeps the palaces away from reach of the “common man”.
Until they no longer can, because of petty intrigues and internecine conflict in the elite classes. Witness the French Revolution, and how the draconian regime that replaced the royal rule was even more arbitrary and corrupt.
If gays are so proud why do they need a pride month? And why are they looking to others for pride? Are we suppose to compliment them?
will there be flogging of homos on display?
I’m pretty sure the folks back then were not embracing that “lifestyle”
Well, glad that I did my visit there a little over three years ago.
More bull s^^t from woke libs. We still have many trees and we can still get rope.
The left has to destroy everything about American history.
Thanks again Nimrate Randhawa for getting this ball rolling.

Google Nimarata Randhawa and you’ll see.
Who on earth is this dude?
That’s Nikkey Haley’s real, given name.
My wife and I have been to Williamsburg twice. The first time was wonderful; a great learning experience on the founding of the United States, which included a grand parade portraying the citizens of the time.
Our second visit to woke Williamsburg was dissapointing; an uncomfortable experience on the obsession of today’s wokism. There was no parade, just one presentation on the evils of the time after another.
The one positive experience was the person portraying Patrick Henry. His narrative stayed true to the historical record. Other than that, I have no desire to go back to Williamsburg.
Glad you mentioned Virginia.
Tomorrow is primary day and I hope Virginians will vote for Jarome Bell. He appears to be the only one who admires President Trump, according to voting records of his opponent.
Bell is a law and order guy and all States need THAT right now.
Though it is easy, today, for sane people to perceive the wild instability of those who have descended into "woke" madness, it is not easy for the "woke". Apparently they cannot perceive the madness into which they have allowed themselves to descend.
I’m willing to say that if some gays contributed the the founding of America to the same degree as those individuals already recognized, those gays should be included.
But no mention should be made that they were gay. Maybe some of our founding fathers were gay. Maybe some of those founding fathers were down deep females. Who knows? Who wants to know?
