The country’s eyes are trained on high-profile massacres in Texas and Buffalo, but most mass shootings bear little resemblance to those.
Of 267 incidents this year classified as mass shootings by the Gun Violence Archive, nearly all can be tied to gang beefs, neighborhood arguments, robberies or domestic incidents that spiraled out of control.
Indiscriminate slaughter by a lone gunman blasting away at a store, school or some other public place is rare, according to a Washington Times analysis of the archive’s data, accounting for less than 4% of the total.
The lower-profile shootings involve significant carnage, and all have one common thread: a firearm was used.
Beyond that, the shootings look very different.
Many, particularly those on the streets or that stem from gang issues, involve multiple shooters spraying bullets. Domestic incidents can turn into mass incidents based on chance, such as who happened to be home when the shooter came calling.
That’s a far cry from the deranged lone wolf maniacs who blasted away at elementary school children in Uvalde, Texas, and targeted a grocery store in a predominantly Black neighborhood in Buffalo, New York.

Considering their public garment-rending and tooth-gnashing you'd think people would begin wondering why the vast majority of mass shootings go entirely unnoticed and unaddressed by government and the media.
C'mon folks, use your heads. This ain't hard.
Most murders with gun occur in the city. And by far the most deaths by guns are caused by people shooting hand guns. Rifles of every sort cause virtually none of the murders in America. Just a few sensationalized attacks by deranged people who are rarely allowed to have the guns in the first place. If you want to get rid of gun violence, get rid of cities.

We did not have a lot of mass killings(I can think of three) until the mental institutions were closed in the 1970s and the inmates dumped back on the streets. Almost every mass shooter has been crazy as a loon or a suicide wanting to inflict his pain on others before he kills himself or cops kill him.
Those three incidents were Howard Unruh, a man with Schizophrenia who killed 13 in 1949,
Richard Speck who, with a knife, killed eight student nurses in 1966.
Charles Whitman who in 1966 knifed his wife and mother and went on a killing rampage in the Texas Tower. Brain cancer.
In the past most of these killers would have already been in a mental institution. Today they are dumped on the streets to kill people, throw people in front of subway trains and shoot up schools and churches.
And the democrats love it as they can scream about guns. If they said we needed to lock up the crazies the n many in the Biden admin would have to also be locked up.
There is no way for the dems to leverage mass shootings in the inner city.
The original FBI Crime Statistic definition explicitly excludes gang related shootings, family related shootings, and shootings that involve another crime like robbery or drug dealing.
I do not know if the FBI has changed its own definition or not.
