Hume: ‘Many Republicans Would Privately Be Very Glad’ If 1/6 Probe Makes Trump Go Away
breitbart ^ | 13 Jun 2022 | PAM KEY

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said Monday on FNC’s “Special Report” that many Republicans would be privately very happy if the House Select Committee, which is investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, damages Donald Trump to the point he can’t be the presidential nominee in 2024.

Anchor Bret Baier asked, “I guess the question still is, are they moving towards trying to make a legal case against Donald Trump, or one that is a political case to somehow prevent him from being a factor in 2024?”

Hume said, “Well, I think they’re doing both. Jamie Raskin, one of the committee members, has said, you know, part of what they’re doing is to create something that can be referred to the justice department for possible prosecution. What strikes me about this, Bret is that if they succeed – either by damaging him or staining him such that he is either unable or for legal or for political reasons to run again – they might end up finding out that they’ve done the Republican Party a great service, because I think a great many Republicans think they can’t win with Trump at the head of the ticket again. They are afraid of his supporters and don’t want to come out against him directly. But they’d like him to go away. If the effect of this committee is to make his possible candidacy go away, I think a great many Republicans would privately be very glad.”

Agreed.
There are/were many DC Republicans that did not like Trump. He was an outsider that actually tried to change things.
There are many corrupt Republicans that make a lot of money from special interest groups in Washington.
The difference is the groups are Defense contractors and their lobbyists. People like Lindsey.

Maybe elected Republican officials wish Trump would go away but it’s not happening

For example, I don’t think Mitch McConnell and the 10 other Republicans voting for gun control with the Democrats would lose one second of sleep if they never had to talk about Trump again.

Just like they wanted Mueller’s Witch Hunt to remove Trump from office.

I don’t know of any. But regardless of those who do, it is the Trump agenda that wil save America and frankly I know of no one who can run the MAGA program other than Trump.

Donald Trump was a VERY BIG WRENCH thrown into their cozy little world.

He has totally ruined their way of life.

How many times over the decades did we hear “we need a change in Washington”?

But when a genuine change agent arrived, the ENTIRE RULING OLIGARCHY moved as one against him.

And yet he still succeeded despite all their vaunted power and his influence is greater than all theirs combined.

So they’ve been out for blood. And it’s not over.

I’d suspect Hume is reflecting what a lot of establishment republicans are thinking. If Trump is not in the field for 2024 it simplifies things for the rest of them. He takes up all the oxygen in the room, and they need that space.

The ones who aided and abetted the theft of an election or stood by and did nothing about it.

Just because he would win in a landslide is no reason for the GOP to want him to run.

I realize Larry Hogan and Chris Christie are rather large but someone should explain to Britt that they still only count as two and not “many.”

Many Republicans want Brit Hume, along with his RINOS to go away. I am and have been a Newt fan, he should have been President. He had lots of momentum after his fabulous debate and won the SC primary. Brit Hume blames Newt for the death of his homosexual son. He and Fox News destroyed him.

Trump exposed the complicity of the beltway Republicans; the fake “opposition” to democrats, but in reality, just part of the Uniparty, our permanent ruling class in D.C.

This cozy arrangement of the ruling elites has been in place over a half-century, with few exceptions to interrupt it.

Reagan being one, although there was a initial attempt to assassinate him. That would have put Bush Sr in power. Bush Sr, the ex-head of the CIA; a more “inside” person you could not find.

Trump being another; and the elites spent his entire term attempting to destroy him. The attempt culminated with the coordinated attack by the FBI, the MSM, and Big Tech; the most blatant example being the coordinated destruction of the Hunter Biden laptop story as a “fake” when it was real.

Now the ruling elites got their wish and installed an empty shell as President. With the complete destruction of the country, my only wish is that they are sunk along with the rest of us.

“if they succeed – either by damaging him or staining him such that he is either unable or for legal or for political reasons to run again”

Maybe they can impeach him again after their 2 failures to do so?
Third time’s a charm!

If the impeachment victories couldn’t do it, NOTHING they Qonjure up will work.
