WARREN, MI -- Police say a Warren man in his 30s lost both his arms Saturday after a bomb he was handling inside his garage detonated unexpectedly. According to The Detroit News, the homeowner -- who has not been publicly identified -- was transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The explosion occurred around 3:10 p.m. at a home located on Gentner Street near 8 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue. Police say the man was under investigation prior to the explosion and a search warrant was conducted after the blast.
As part of the investigation into the explosion, police found several other bombs at the man’s house along with several different guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition. The investigation is ongoing.
“Dont know enough to know how to feel about this”
Really? A person making bombs in his garage in Detroit? Not enough info to determine if that’s a bad thing?
Maybe his Daddy was in the Weather Underground from the 60’s-70’s. Those guys liked to make bombs, sometimes with the same result.
I’m looking for the Dog!
Thankfully he is no longer armed and dangerous.
That’s easy for ME. I don’t care who you are or what you believe, if you’re building bombs in your garage, you DESERVE to blow up.
Premature jihadulation?
I hope that they find his arms. That would be nice.
He’s hiding under a bed, seventeen miles away.
In America, everyone has the Right to be armed.
Dumb ass.
Years ago I saw a guy that decided to mix up some nitroglycerin. The plan was to throw the container into the water but it never made it because the slosh caused it to detonate in his hand.

1) False flag, he’s a lib pretending to be ‘right wing’ who blew himself up to get back at conservatives.
2) Crisis actor (paging Alex Jones).
A member of a Michigan motorcycle gang already on a federal agency’s watchlist is in critical condition after a homemade bomb he was handling exploded in his garage.

Bada boom…tssss…
[I’ve seen a number of “recipes” for performing a nitration reaction in your kitchen. As in making nitroglycerin or nitrocellulose.
My favorite explained how you should put your beaker of pure nitric/sulfuric acid in a beaker, place the beaker in an ice water bath, then stir it with a thermometer, not touching the sides, as you added the cellulose 1/2 teaspoon every second, while closely watching the temperature. If the temperature rose above 4C, or it started to fume or bubble, you were instructed to dump the beaker into the ice water, “note: within ten seconds.”
I’m sure some of you know what happens when you suddenly mix a strong acid with water, but the instructions provided no warnings, or discussions of safety equipment, or, for that matter, what sort of gases the reaction might release, even if everything went well, and how to cope with them. Or, for that matter, what might happen if you don’t dump the solution fast enough.
My take on this is simple - if you’ve never taken a college-level lab course in organic chemistry, just don’t.]
Warren, MI. Isn’t that close to al-Ann Arbor, PBUH (People Blow Up Here)?
Is this, by any chance, an “aloha snackbar” industrial accident?
That is a link to a site that posts a teaser and then the link to the actual Daily Mail article.
