Go figure, we lived at the far west of 8 Mile (about 1,000 yards away) where it had turned into a dirt road in Livingston County.

Quite the bucolic area, not sure exactly how far the Detroit border is, maybe 30 miles +/-. The road ends westward in Whitmore Lake.

I had a farm in rural Wisconsin. Farmers were blowing stuff up all the time. Ponds to instant dredge the muck, large boulders too large to move, bringing down old silos, tree stumps, or fracturing shale formations. We had mud from a farmers pond land on our house from a half mile away. They make big bombs (farmers).
