Donald Trump in recent months has been telling confidants that he may launch his 2024 presidential campaign early — and that he’s considering launching it in Florida to stick it to Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Trump has kicked around staging a large, flashy launch rally (with fireworks, of course) that would announce his White House bid before the 2022 midterm elections, according to three sources familiar with the matter.
People who’ve spoken to Trump say that one reason he’s eying the Sunshine State is to assert his dominance over an ascendant DeSantis, who — if they both run in 2024 — would likely be the former president’s most formidable competitor in a primary fight for the GOP nomination. One of the sources said Trump’s motivation is to show the governor “who the boss is” in the modern-day GOP.

Love it, but one of them would need to move out of Florida.
My post should have read that “I would love a Trump/Desantis ticket, but one of them would have to move out of Florida.”
trump isn’t hearing anything...
desantis is currently running for reelection for florida governor 2022...
By the way, is the water dry behind your ears yet. You've only been here since May 17th.
Trump wants what’s best for the country. I imagine DeSantis does not spook him.
These people are ascribing Hillary’s motivations to trump
They’re off by a mile
Exactly. I believe DeSantis and Trump are aligned in their politics.
Since May 2022. Troll.
Those hippies hate America and love supporting Commies. Of course they're going to slam President in Exile Trump!
Meanwhile, they've got plenty of time for promoting sh#t like this:
I think DeSantis might make a very good president some day. But I haven’t heard a word indicating that he’s thinking of running in 2024.
I am proud to have Trump as a champion of the positions I support. I am a much milder man that he is, but that makes me value his efforts on my behalf all the more.
I am proud that DeSantis is defending common sense in his state against “Woke” in his state. He is courageous and unyielding against crazy medical, corporate, and educational establishments that push insanity under the guise of science and “rights”.
I am also proud of the work McConnell did in fighting against an activist Supreme Court. I am proud of what Sarah Palin did in empowering ordinary Americans to vote for candidates who advance the interest of ordinary people rather than the approved causes of political elites. I am proud of what Gingrich did in demonstrating what political commitment can do for conservative politics.
I am not proud of fools, here or in Rolling Stone, who relentlessly portray politics as a matter of personal loyalty. Trump, DeSantis, McConnell, Palin and Gingrich are not leaders of my cult. They are flesh and blood politicians who, God willing, move our country in the directions that I wish.
Our country counts. Its future matters. The individuals, not so much.
Some clown who joined FR less than a month ago posts Rolling Stone article by some doofis named Frasawin Suebsaen? Give me a break! FR should have a posting regulation: No posts from newbies until six months have passed.
Rolling Stone is my go to source to get an accurate portrayal of Trumps plans....said nobody ever.
Lol. Rolling Stones is a great source. Lol.
Actually, the most fun election would be Donald Trump switching to Democrat and running against Ron DeSantis who would be the Republican candidate. Now that would be a fun primary season!
He sounds like a never-Trumper retread.
Not buying it. They’re on the same team!
DeSantis has done Florida well economically. I like DeSantis and will vote for him. Trump was a business owner but made terrible choices for people around him, some forced, some not forced.
Trump should just support our country in other ways with all the legal issues ongoing with AG NY, suppose to give deposition in next couple of weeks in NY, who knows if any charges will come from Jan 6th hearings, DOJ, etc. In other words, he is damaged goods as a Presidential candidate in my opinion.
I think his ego is going to hurt our party if he goes up against DeSantis. We had 4 years of investigations, accusations, impeachments, our party even trying to take him down along with Dems and the media
non-stop. I want to try and have a decent 4 year Republican Presidency going forward.
DeSantis has plenty of other skills Trump doesn’t with a whole lot less baggage. People who would never vote for Trump will give DeSantis a look.
What’s wrong with Trump 2024, DeSantis 2028, 2032? I mean, is DeSantis really done fixing Florida? I doubt it.
