Until recently, the Hindu caste system was not an issue in the United States.
Now, as a result of mass immigration from South Asia, this cultural hierarchy has been imported into our country and we have to deal with it.
In 1916, B.R. Ambedkar, the father of India’s constitution and himself a Dalit, wrote: “If Hindus migrate to other regions on earth, Indian caste would become a world problem.”
Now, it's happening.

Indians are a kiss up piss down pack of a55holes.
The cast system, if applied here, is as bad as slavery and must be crushed, then it’s practicioners either deported or rehabilitated to never, never inflict it upon others on these shores ever again.
H1B visas and why the social media companies are so ready to censor our discourse. They have no familiarity with free speech and it could be postulated that free speech is not good for a caste system. Talk about elites! Castes are like a pyramid with each higher caste having fewer members.
You have to be one of the crudest people on FR.
I’d much prefer the civilized company of the Indians I’ve known.
They know that if this anti-discrimination clause was inserted into law that there would be a whole bunch of prominent Indian faculty and executive level tech bigwigs subjected to lawsuits and firing, and they don’t want that to happen.
The Democrats WANT a new caste system.
Succinctly put lol, those who grew up over there are the type to suck up to their superiors, and look down upon anyone lower than themselves in the pecking order.
I worked at a company where an Indian man became the big shot Director....no big deal.
Another man from India, a person I was much friendlier with, then told me that he now probably had to move on. I was like...? What’s up? He told me he was from a different caste then the new director and as a result would be treated poorly and ultimately have no chance. I was shocked....and basically thought he was over reacting.
But, a few month later he was indeed getting the poorer assignments, losing status (getting Pluto-ed as they say). In time he left.....and I have never forgotten that.
This article rings true to me.
Just fire everybody from India, cancel their visas, resend their permits, and send them all home. Let them go home to their cesspool country, taking their tribal caste politics with them.
I’m sure there are many upper-caste Indians who act this way - old, traditional prejudices die hard.
But many others don’t. I’ve worked among them and never witnessed this.
A major part of MAGA to me is actually being surrounded by Americans in every single daily activity. For instance, when I go to the grocery store, I want to see Americans and be able to hear the American language spoken, not a myriad of other languages. Some would say this in xenophobic, but I call it keeping America American.
I was in tech for 40 years and always worked with Indians. I never saw anything of the caste system. It seemed to me that most of them were against it. But a while back, Wired mag had an article about it. Apparently, if you are of a high caste you wear some sort of a cord around your neck and under your arm, and if you are Indian, they will touch your shoulder and feel for that cord. That is creepy.
You love the way they kiss your a55 don't you? I've had plenty of Indians kiss my backside over the years but when they have a critical mass in a company and work above you it's a whole different story. Just wait my friend, you will get it hard in spades before long.
Why are they being imported? Can’t they work from home?
That would be lovely, but... Not gonna happen. Our Capital is a bigger swamp than the Everglades.
The only thing to resolve our immigration issues would be a civil war and to make our Constitutionalism clear, but none of us want to have to resort to war. I sure don’t.
Anyone who migrates here legally and acquires citizenship - I’m down with that. Illegally, not so much.
I have only limited experience with them as co-workers, but from what I’ve seen, those that grew up over there and came here very much retained aspects of their culture especially Hinduism, and the caste system is an intrinsic part of that from what I hear.
I ran into three upper caste Indians in NYC in the workplace over a span of 20 years. No encounter with them was pleasant for me or my workmates. I know, this is totally anecdotal. Oh well.
Half the Missouri state employees in Jefferson City are Hindu, and not only do they have a caste system, they only hire fellow Hindis.
All Indians I knew in the US are from the top 2 castes.
I was told that it is because India instituted caste “affirmative action” and the top castes are being discriminated in India.
