House Speaker Nancy Pelosi got in a huff with a reporter while insisting Thursday that Supreme Court justices have adequate protection — even after a serious bid to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his Maryland home was foiled just a day earlier.
As Pelosi left her weekly press conference, she stopped to address a reporter who shouted: “You said the justices are protected, but there was an attempt on Justice Kavanaugh’s life.”
“And he’s protected,” Pelosi snapped back. “He’s protected. The justices are protected.”
Congressional Republicans have urged the House to approve a Senate-passed bill that would give the nation’s leading jurists and their families the same level of security as legislators and White House officials. Exactly!
Kav wasn’t protected. The only reason the guy was caught was he turned himself in.
The only real consolation here is:
1) Pelosi will give up the gavel at the end of the year.
2) It’s likely she won’t serve in the minority and will retire in 2023. But this also may not occur given the almost inability of elected officials to retire.
IF anything happens, she’s complicit.
She’s got her foot in the door, so to speak, keeping it propped open for...something.
Easy for her drunkeness to say. She has jackboots protecting her that are allowed to murder unarmed women without justification or consequences
Pelosi’s failure to take more extensive action in response to this recent threat constitutes advocacy for further threats.
On that basis, she should be rung up as an accessory in the existing case.
Chuck should be arrested.
