During the Monday episode of “Morning Joe,” the popular MSNBC host informed his audience that the AR-15 weapon is more powerful than the weapons used by America in Vietnam.
Of course, that’s complete fiction and utter nonsense, but that didn’t stop him from lying again.
Where the hell is Scarborough getting his information from? A simple Google search will tell you that the idea that the AR-15 is more lethal, powerful or deadly than the M16s used in Vietnam is downright laughable.

AR stands for America’s Rifle. The recoil is so light that a 6 year old little girl can shoot it (with daddy nearby, of course) and an 85 year old great-grandmother can shoot it as well.
They're no longer just considering it. The initial ten-year contract has been awarded to SIG Sauer for up to 250,000 'XM5' and 'XM250' rifles designed to fire a 6.8mm round to penetrate body armor at a distance. The first rollout is due in the third quarter of 2023. https://www.defense.gov/News/News-Stories/Article/Article/3005746/army-announces-2-new-rifles-for-close-combat-soldiers/
I guess they will now have to call it the Almost War Rifle.
I always tune in to The Morning Retard Show to get my gun information 🤪
Commie jo is not interested in disarming criminals who might use an ar….he is interested in disarming the citizens…simple…
More damage/destruction has been done to the U.S. than the 9/11 attacks by the Biden administration. More harm has been caused by democrats in the last 2=4 years than all the guns collectively owned by Americans. More lives have been lost in the last 4 years through the destruction of law-enforcement, than through the mass-shootings which democrats want to use to take the right-to-bear arms from Americans.
The AR-15 that Joe points to as more deadly than what was used in Vietnam, is less deadly than the rhetoric coming from Scarborough and democrats, because, that rhetoric offers all kinds of excuses for criminals to commit their crimes.
Democrats are the best friends of criminals.
This corrupt lying, gun grabbing POS is actually not lying, although his intention is to provide a justification for unconstitutional and tyrannical firearm seizures. I own 7 AR-15’s. Two are chambered for the standard 5.56 NATO M195 cartridge used in Vietnam and it’s subsequent iterations. One is chambered in .22 LR, the common squirrel cartridge. One is chambered in .300 Blackout, which has an initial muzzle velocity of 2230 fps, with 1360 ft lbs. of energy at the muzzle. One is chambered in .458 SOCOM with a 250 grain bullet at 2150 fps and 2150 ft lbs. at the muzzle, and another in .50 Beowulf 300 grain bullet at 1870 fps, 2330 ft lbs. at the muzzle. The last is chambered in 6.8 Wolverine cartridge using a 90 grain bullet at 2750 fps with 1510 ft lbs at the muzzle.
Compare this with the G.I. M195 Vietnam era cartridge firing a 55 grain bullet at 3,250 fps with a muzzle energy of just under 1300 fps. With the exception of the .22 LR round they are all more powerful then the Vietnam era cartridge.
But that is PRECISELY why Eugene Stoner’s brilliant design is arguably the most versatile firearm ever conceived. I assembled each and every one of these myself from parts starting with a standard Mil-Spec AR-15 receiver, assembled the barrels into a standard stripped Mil-Spec upper receiver. Once the receivers are assembled, they can be installed on ANY Mil-Spec lower receiver by simply pushing out two captive pins. They all use the same STANAG magazines (the .458 and the .50 Beowulf can only hold 10 rounds though) and the same bolt and bolt carrier. (The .22 LR requires a dedicated bolt carrier and barrel and a different magazine)
I believe that there are approximately 175 different rifle and pistol cartridges to which the Ar-15 and AR-10 platforms can be readily and easily adapted to with common hand tools. (The only specialized tool needed is a armorer’s wrench)
The 2nd amendment is about a militia. A militia is a body of citizens organized for military purposes and bearing weapons supplied by themselves and of the kind in common military use at the time. The RKBA IS about “weapons of war.” If we let turds like Scarborough and his ilk define the 2nd amendment as being for plugging bunny rabbits, we have negated it’s purpose altogether. The framers of the constitution did not write it to ensure your ability to hunt and blast paper targets. Most states require a license to hunt anyway.
The fact that a rifle firing an intermediate power “assault rifle” cartridge is being transmogrified into a gun grabber “powerful” notion should have NO BEARING whatsoever in the right of the citizen militia to possess it in order to maintain the “security of a FREE state”!!!
Yes it was. I think my next purchases will be in .308 of some type. I need to look at the new Army rifle. It’s 6.8 but a beast.
If their lips are moving; they’re lying.
Springfield Armory M1A is as close as you can get to having an M-14.

yup, 6.8mm
Is the M1A the same weight as an AR-10 style rifle. I’m getting old. M1A is a great rifle but it is heavy.
Hell, my dear rifle is more powerful than an AR-15.
Wonder what he would think of my 50 A&E?
“I wonder what these yahoos would say if they learned the military is considering going to a larger caliber because the 556 is under powered.”
Already a “done deal”, and Sig got the contract. Chambered in 6.8mm
I apologize for the lack of an actual hyperlink. :(
