Thx. Will touch it when I’m ready to drop the cash. Might be a few years because of OBiden. Being real stingy these days.

More powerful than the standard issue M1.

M1?

“I own 7 AR-15’s. Two are chambered for the standard 5.56 NATO M195 cartridge used in Vietnam ….
Compare this with the G.I. M195 Vietnam era cartridge firing a 55grain bullet at 3,250 fps with a muzzle energy of just under 1300 fps. With the exception of the .22 LR round they are all more powerful then the Vietnam era cartridge.”
I’m missing something. If you have two AR-15s chambered identically to the M-16 in Vietnam, why are these two AR-15’s more powerful than the Vietnam era cartridge?
What did I miss?

My bad. I meant to say that all of these other cartridges, while not as ubiquitous as the 5.56 version, are common, and significantly more powerful then that G.I. round. Again all these 175 or so different cartridges used in the AR-15 are in the main, more powerful then the original.

In solidarity with Joe, and to do my part for “gun safety”,
I am willing to trade my AR-15 for one of the M-16s the Post Office has in their racks.

Best battle rifle I ever fired, when you hit some NVA SOB with it he went down.
M-16 just punched a little bitty hole through and through.
