On Friday, HBO’s Bill Maher made clear the Uvalde school attacker’s advantage was not the type of gun he used but the amount of time he had to use it.
Maher said, “I mean, this kid was in the room for 40 minutes before anybody came in. It wouldn’t have mattered what kind of gun he had. Any kind of gun could do any amount of damage in that time.”

A gun, a knife, a club. The cops were no where and had no intention of even showing up. Who is this Bill Maher guy? Is he a clone of the other one?
True, he could have done as much damage with a single shot flintlock.
Or a machete.

Holy cow Bill Maher may be a lefty but he’s not taken in by the worst of the propaganda....so it seems.
I am astounded by Maher‘s clarity of thought here.
And as a side note, I don’t particularly care what his motives are. He’s reaching an audience that otherwise would not hear any of this. Maher is moving the ball in the right direction.
A man stabbed three people at a hospital on Friday. He didn’t need a gun - only a sharp-edged object, the element of surprise, and some time.
Ask “Bill” why we never worried about this in the 70’s.
He might be able to figure it out.
Just like the Enoch Brown School house massacre in 1764.
Just like Richard Speck did in 1966 when he murdered eight student nurses. He used a knife.

Almost a million people were slaughtered in Rwanda with mostly machetes over a period of a month. You don’t need a gun to commit mass murder.

Bingo. Mag capacity is an invalid argument in a civilian environment. Anyone with half a brain knows that an empty seven round (1911) mag can be exchanged with another one in less than 2 seconds.
The cops should have been tazed, ziptied or shot as needed by the real first responders, legally armed citizens, on their way in to save innocent children.
Ditto! Wonder what Maher is taking to make these recent rational arguments?
