Michael Sussmann, a lawyer representing Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, has been found not guilty of a single count of lying to the FBI when he said he was not working on behalf of any client when he alleged a covert communications channel between the Trump Organization and Russia's Alfa Bank.
Sussmann was charged under 18 U.S.C. 1001 with lying to the FBI during a meeting with then-FBI general counsel James Baker when he came forward with what he claimed was evidence of possible covert communications between the Trump organization and Alfa, a Russian bank. Sussmann allegedly concealed that he was representing the Clinton campaign, which he billed for his efforts.
The verdict comes after a two week trial led to more than a day of deliberations... by this jury:

Durham tried getting the Hillary supporters off, but the judge wouldn’t allow it. The judge offered to step down, but Durham said it wasn’t needed.
A jury composed of 12 Hillary supporters, including at least two Hillary campaign contributors and a juror whose daughter is a friend of Sussman’s daughter, presided over by an Obama appointed judge who kept out evidence implicating Hillary, and they found Sussman not guilty?

I was hoping maybe some real justice might be delivered, but with Barr appointing Durham I always had my doubts. And I can’t say, I’m surprised by today’s ruling.
Durham’s role was like the Washington Generals, somebody has to be the opponent.
That’s a great and legitimate question.
I honestly don’t care. The limited prosecutions in this whole matter are a whitewash irrespective of whether this guy is found guilty.
Of course not, all they cared about was getting rid of Trump...Mission Accomplished.

Durham didn’t have the text message at the time of the indictment. I’ve read a couple different options on how it was obtained. It was either from a phone the IG had squirreled away or from a private phone Baker had squirreled away. If it was the latter, Durham was putting the thumb screws to Baker to cough it up..

There were Hillary donors and supporters on the jury. What did yuo expect from a party that boast of their liars and cheats? Justice?

I think there is no law for Dems anymore. The rest of us have something to worry about.

This is the outcome we can hang our hats on. She will likely never run again. About the best justice Americans get out of this pile of crap situation our country is in.

That’s where the law was broken or not - it’s not like people can choose what State they want their trial held in.... It was DC or nothing.
