He worked at Wendy’s for a year. Wendy’s in Uvalde starts at $17-19K per year for the lowest position, ‘Dishwasher’.
Kid lived with mom/grandmother, apparently did not pay rent or food costs and the truck wasn’t his - it was his grandmother’s.
At $19K/year and no significant expenses, it doesn’t take long to get that kind of money.

Remarkable and convenient coincidence for the shooter. Simply from a crime investigation standpoint, this teacher and the open door need to be looked into.
I will add that my last few years before retirement I worked for a service that catered to schools. I was in a school almost every day and probably over 100 different schools.
Let me tell you, there are multitudes of mentally ill people working at those schools.
Well I’m sure he got guidance from the Reported 6 FBI agents who were online with him prior to the shooting.
