A shocking video shows the moments a woman riding a New York City subway pleads with passengers to help her as she is assaulted by a thug as other riders appear to ignore her pleas. In the video, taken on Wednesday and posted on Daily Dot, the hoodlum is seen dressed in black leggings, a white cropped zippered hoodie and white sneakers, storms around the train car while screaming expletives.

Agree. Although, those seats may not always be available. However, a nicely and modestly dressed woman may be given a seat, by a nicely dressed man. Never know, these days.

And if they did, it's likely they would be arrested for manslaughter and tried before a jury that, on average, votes 80%+ to support the types of policies that kept that predator on the streets, the police defanged and demoralized, and those onlookers fearful of intervening.

And if the Tomcat was in a flat spin, how did Goose hit the canopy after the Primacord blew it off? Seeing as how the ejection sequence is on a timed delay.

I assume you’re speaking of Top Gun movies. Out of my league. My experience was with my husband in General Aviation aircraft and 10 hours at the controls for a Pinch Hitter course. Not true a wife can’t take directions from her husband. NOT that I went any further than the 10 hours and thank goodness, never had to apply what I’d learned.

I take my hat off when I sit at a table in a restaurant. One time an older lady stopped at my table and said how nice it was to see someone do that. I was making a hotel reservations 18 years ago and said ma’am a lot. She asked if I had been in the military (yes). I hold the door open for everyone and cannot recall getting a dirty look. It’s just natural.

Well, the original script had Goose dying in a midair collision, but the Navy objected, so the studio went with “freak accident while ejecting”...supposedly based on an actual incident at Miramar.

I still say ma’am. But I still get those looks, mostly from younger women. Elderly women don’t seem to mind.
As I said earlier, I still open or hold a door for some people.
I guess it makes a difference where one lives. I’m in northern Illinois. Perhaps the Chicago influence has made it out my way and the women are more...militant. It’s a generalization, I know.
When I lived in Louisiana it was acceptable to do the chivalric bit. The incident of which I previously spoke, at the bank, was in California. I’m retired now, but when I was working I traveled a lot on business, especially to large cosmopolitan areas. Chivalry was definitely unappreciated there.
